Thoughts on no bouquet toss?

Jonelle, on June 28, 2018 at 9:42 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20
I have been thinking about what I want to include vs not include as far as events for our reception and have really thought about cutting out the bouquet toss. I recently attended a wedding and nobody seemed to get excited about/participate in the bouquet toss. Is this something that people expect and want at a reception or could I skip it?

We skipped the bouquet toss and the garter toss. Nobody seemed to miss them and no one asked about them.

    You can skip it!
My BMs have demanded I do it and some other single ladies to so I'm keeping it but I could definitely do without!

Skipping ours too. The last wedding I was at, the bride just turned around and shoved it into one of the girls hands that she had personally picked. I could care less if I got it, but why would u call out people for being single, when they already are aware of it on a day celebrating love, then make it seem like no one else mattered.

We are skipping both. My sister did a cool thing at her wedding alll the married couples got on the dance floor. Then the DJ announces if toy are married a day step off the floor then 5 years 10 years and do on. So the last people on the dance floor were his grandma and grandpa. She gave what would be the tossing bouqet to her.

I think the bouquet toss and garter toss are kind of phasing out. No one will miss it if you choose to skip it.

You can skip it. Some weddings skip the Bowuet and garter toss. But we’re doing one even though most of everyone is married just for fun

Most weddings I’ve been to have skipped it. I actually realize how awkward it is now when I go to a wedding that does do it.

We are far from traditional so we are not doing the garter toss, bouquet toss, no toasts, no departure, and we're only doing the husband/wife dance.

The bouquet toss is going out of style. My coordinator suggested that instead we do an anniversary dance - meaning, have a song playing, invite all married couples to the dance floor and they slowly ask people who have been married 1 year, 5 years, ten, 20, etc to leave and the couple who is left has been married the longest and they 'win'. I think it's really sweet and fun. Encourages people to get up and dance. No pressure or ruining of the flowers.

I think alot of people are opting to skip it anymore. We're doing the anniversary dance instead.

We were at another wedding that did this and my daughter really liked this idea for her wedding.

Our concern about doing this is one of her grandfathers passed away almost 15 years ago, but her grandmother (his wife) is one of those folks that holds on to memories and we don't want to hurt her feelings.

    Thoughts?
