Thoughts on next year being different at some point with approved vaccine

Casey.S, on December 13, 2020 at 5:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
October 2021 bride originally October 2020. Still feeling so depressed about anything wedding related. Trying to hold onto something with this vaccine approved. How are other 2021 brides feeling? Do we feel like we will eventually see a change in 2021 with this vaccine? Currently in NY with strict restrictions and only 50 people allowed. We have too big of Italian families to do 50 people. Hoping the restrictions will be lighter by the fall. Really praying for all 2021 brides.

I feel like things will get better by the end of next year, at least I'm hoping. I know everyone is so tired of Covid ruining things 😩

Yeah it sucks...I feel like the end of 2021 will be better. I'm March 2021 and they just slammed us with the 10 people limit AGAIN so yeah...not sure if we'll be able to proceed. I hope it works out for you guys!

I am getting married in September 2021. Right now everything is planned to be a 200 person wedding, and I’m trying to hold on to hope even with the vaccine announcement, but it is really hard. Even if I do end up getting to have the wedding I am vision, I can’t begin to explain to other people the amount of stress and anxiety planning during COVID brings. It is really hard to be happy and excited about your own wedding, and enjoy the planning process when you don’t even know if it’s gonna happen, or if it’s going to have to be altered or moved to a different date.

I understand completely. After having to cancel it this year, I haven’t even able to get excited about it again. We have stopped any wedding planning since March and I can’t bring myself to start again. I hope we both get the days we envision. Hang in there!

Ugh I’m sorry Smiley sad I understand the feeling of not knowing what to do. That’s how we felt this year for what should have been our October 2020 wedding. I wish you all the best though and your day will be perfect no matter what day it is. This is such a hard time to be a bride.

We postponed twice and are now set for end of July 2021. Not sure what we would do if we had to reschedule a third time. I feel like we would just give up since we’re already married. But I’m hoping we can all have our weddings next year. It’s always been my dream to have a big wedding. I think by the time of your wedding, they’ll have more knowledge and vaccines out 🤞🏼 Fingers crossed you’ll be all good

We are November 2021 and I’m trying to stay hopeful that by then, things will be much better. Probably not 100% back to normal but at least better. We have 145 people on our list and I would love to still invite them all. So fingers crossed for a turnaround!

I dont think people's fear or the impacts of the COVID mandates will age well. Several small businesses have closed permanently. Even with the vaccine, many people wont take it immediately. I'm not worried about my wedding being cancelled or not the way I wamted it to be.

So you don’t think the vaccine will make a difference in things improving as next year goes on?

April ‘21 AZ bride here! Hoping that our wedding will still go as planned. The vaccine will be a game changer & am hopeful for all the ‘21 couples out there. Our guest list is around 90 so probably 80 will show. Fingers crossed!

Good luck and I hope you have the best day ever! Our guest list is almost 250 people so we’re alittle more screwed lol plus New York has crazy restrictions that are starting to get worse again. I hope things are better there in AZ!

The problem is, many people are not willing to get vaccinated. This will prolong the pandemic and therefore I think 2021 won’t be what we all hope. Like in the past, each pandemic took 2-3 years to slow down. I think we are closer to the peak. I think due to holidays, this December and January will be terrible. People are out shopping like crazy, flights are booked, people will gather for Christmas. So, in my head, the numbers will increase a lot a week or two after Christmas.😔

I really don't know. I do know that the vaccine won't make everyone's fear go away overnight.

And then what? Will bussinesses and venues require ppl to show proof that they had the COVID vaccine even though they dont require for other vaccines?! It's a mess.

I honestly think Covid has impacted the industry so hard that it will be years, maybe even a decade before things are “normal” again for large events. I do not want to disappoint anyone but the reality of having weddings with over 100 people might be a ways off in some states.

We had our wedding this past Saturday with 32 people and honestly it was perfect. All of our guests were talking about 50-100 person weddings being the way of things in the future.

Having our big wedding in October 2021. I still won't be too sad if we have to reduce the guest list again but staying positive that Fall of next year will be better and that most of our 150 guests can attend.

My sister is a pharmacist and while she is looking forward to the vaccine itself, she's dreading administering it because of the sheer number of antivaxxers and other folks who don't think the virus is real coming after them with lawsuits. Also she says that the number of people not taking proper precautions in the current pandemic is so high that even with the vaccine, the virus won't be going anywhere until everyone gets on the same page and is proactive together. Other countries did what they were supposed to and wiped it out in a couple months but that's not happening here.
