Those who had to transfer their own cakes...

Brianna N, on October 1, 2019 at 9:12 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8
So my wedding is in 11 days and I'm stressed out! We were going to use this bakery, the cost of the cake with delivery was going to be 640. However, due to an unexpected financial expense we have to do something cheaper. Walmart does a 3 tiered cake for 140, so weve decided to go with that instead. However im stressing about how to best transport it and how to get it set up. Does anyone know if the tigers will be together already or if someone will have to stack them? If so, how difficult is it to stack cake tiers?? How do we transfer the cake from the box to the cake stand?? Ughhhh any insight or calming words appreciated!!!

I haven't order a tiered cake from Wal-Mart, but I'm almost positive they will have it stacked for you. A few tips: keep your car cool no matter the outside temperature, have a completely flat surface ready to set the cake on with rubber shelf liner for extra stability (no trunks, no seats), or have someone strong hold the cake and act as shocks. Drive extremely careful, brake/slow down way sooner than you normally would. Hold and carry the cake by the bottom only, do not grab the sides or lean the cake against you as you carry it. If you can, have a rolling cart to transport from place to place because the cake is going to be heavy.

As for moving it from box to cake stand, have 3-4 people do this. Get the cake as close to the stand as you can. One side of the box should open completely. If not, have scissors ready to cut it. Have one person ready to pull the box away while the other 2 or 3 people lift the cake together, carefully and keeping the cake level, and set it on the stand. Try to be sure the front side of the cake is facing the correct direction. Otherwise, have those 2 or 3 people lift the cake stand with cake on it and correct it.

I've ordered 3 tiered cakes from Sam's Club and I was super impressed by the box it came in. It keeps it safe and easy to transport. Hopefully walmart is the same!

I’ve seen this online: transport the 🎂in a Plastic Tote that has with the lid as the bottom. This way you have a place to hold it and don’t have to figure out how to get it in/out using it the correct way.

I dont believe that Wal-Mart will set the 🎂 up for you. That’s not a good way to travel with a 🎂.

You could order a sheet 🎂. The🤵’s (Sheet) 🎂 fed 96 and was like $44. I specified pick up for 1:00 to ensure maximum freshness (3:00 Wedding). Everyone loved it and the other 🎂. I also had🎂📦es so that people could take some for later.
