This is so Hard: Fiancè might not love my dress

THIS IS A LONG ONE LOL...Sooooo I'm the bride that has done so much research on what I want exactly in a dress. I'm talking walk in the store like a bad ass like "I like this type of silhouette, with crepe or tulle material, I like a deep V-neck with straps, no ball gowns and no fancy lace" like I'm prepared! Had a whole spreadsheet lol. I get to the store and fall in love with a dress that is COMPLETELY OPPOSITE of what I asked for but that's ok because I was open to trying others. I never wanted a mermaid because I really want to dance. I have always known that I did want a clean, sleek, mordern SIMPLE dress. That's me, that's my style! Long story short...my family DOESN'T LIKE THE DRESS...they think it's not enough and doesn't have that wow factor 😔 They're accepting of it but I know they wish I wanted more from a dress. My mom is very supportive of me now that she understands what I like but it was tough.

Butttttt I'm not winning over anybody and my fiance is included in the anybody. I asked what type of dress he might like to see me in and he straight said "something that's in between" lol we're both simple people but he wants us to look like celebrities on our special day and I totally agree. Then he goes "nothing plain, I mean who wants a plain dress right" 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️😫🤪😟😬😢🥴 MEEEEEE I do I dooooo...I almost died lol. I just laughed right along like I know right LOL! Now I don't know if I should get it. My man has to love it right? I know he'll love me in anything but still I want him to have the look like OHHHH YEAHHHHH! I know it's what I want BUT I want people to at least say OMG she looks stunning! So now I'm trying all these other dresses and I can't decide. Should I step out my comfort zone? I need guidance guys...What are your thoughts?

I think your groom isn’t going to care one bit about the fabric or embellishment once he sees your figure in that dress, as for pleasing everybody else, you’ve got a nice blingy belt. What more do you need? It’s a great dress that hugs your curves, a gorgeous luxurious looking fabric and just enough sparkle in the belt. It’s a good dress.

That dress is stunning. I think the thing about this is that he may be imagining things in his head but when it comes to life and he can actually visualize it, it'll be different. Sort of like one of those things where it comes out better than you thought. So I'm sure he would love this dress Smiley smile

Well I’m in a similar predicament. I purchased a veil that covers my face (which I always envisioned I’d wear) and tells me the other day that he doesn’t like that look 😳😳

Nope.... Your man doesn’t have to love it. He hast to love YOU. And believe me, if you’re wearing the dress on that day, he’s going to think it’s beautiful. People do a lot of talking and opinion giving prior to the wedding. But all of that goes out the window on wedding day. So get the gown you want and rock it!

Your dress is beautiful!!!! I actually looked at that exact one and it was a close second. My dress is also “plain but not plain”. That’s how I refer to it. Personally, I think mermaid/trumpet dresses that are “plain” (with the right blingy belt) look much classier, cleaner, modern and have a subtle sexiness that all of the other silhouettes and “fancy” fabrics don’t have.

I LOVE this dress! It’s so simple and elegant, but I also feel like that volume at the bottom gives it a little something extra! If you love it, I say get it. You’re going to look happier in a dress you love versus one you settled for and that will also show when you’re walking down the aisle!

To start I think your dress is beautiful!
And as long as you love your dress and feel good and happy in it, everyone else will see how beautiful you and the dress are!

That dress is stunning and not “plain” at all!! When you add some amazing jewelry and a great veil it will take it to the next level. You look gorgeous! Use accessories to make more of a statement if you want but know that you look perfect and that dress doesn’t need anything!

You sound like me in the beginning. Lol try two other appointments at different places. If you still think about this gown. Buy it. Dress regret is a real thing. But that dress hugs you perfectly! And the belt adds just the right bling. I believe on your wedding day when ever comes together they will see truly how beautiful the dress is and you!

If you love it so will he! I was disappointed when my Mom didn't love my dress but at the end of the day I decided it was my decision that mattered more and because I loved it and knew it was the one I bought it. Remember it is your day as much as it is his and you don't want to look back at your pictures and regret the dress you chose because of others opinions over your own. Good luck with your decision, and it will all work out!

🖤 yesssss! So I've actually been to 5 stores lol! I couldn't stop thinking about it after the first time. I went last Tuesday to a different store and it was the 3rd dress on the rack soon as you walked in the door! I purposely didn't pull it again because I wanted to try something different. I tried on 6 dresses and didn't love them. Something said let me try it on again and I immediately said I love it out loud. I need to stop 2nd guessing. Thanks so much.
