Just Said Yes August 2022

Third time is the charm?

Dena, on April 20, 2022 at 2:48 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
My husband and I were married in August 2019 in a very small ceremony in Germany in his hometown. Our plan was to have an American reception on our one year anniversary in the US.
COVID ruined our plans for 2020. We rescheduled for August 2021.
As luck (bad luck) would have it, the day of our wedding, a hurricane was expected to hit and we reluctantly cancelled 36 hours before the wedding along with our venue because of our fears of the storm. We now have date number 3 THIS summer.
My question ... Is it super tacky to keep our dated wedding favors from last year? I feel like it's such a waste to throw them out and reorder.

By "dated" do you mean they have the old date on them or that they're just old? It depends on what the actual favors are, but assuming they aren't perishable, I don't see why you couldn't reuse them either way. If they have an actual date on them, you could line out the old date and write in the new one as sort of a humorous nod to having to reschedule. If they're just old then no worries, nobody has seen them and they're still good.

They have last year's date ... Anything perishable we're replacing ... But I have last year's date on a shot glass as part of the favor.

Ohhhhh I see. Can't really line that out I suppose. If you're putting the favors on their own table you could make a punny sign that says something like "Glad we gave it a third SHOT" or something like that?

I actually think it's hilarious to use the old favors. Can you make it comically obvious the date is wrong, like put a sticker over the old date or cross it our with paint or a marker? It could be a fun joke.

My favors and gift box had our original dates and we reused our original invites as fans.
