Thinking of upbeat bridal entrance music

Oceankissed, on March 1, 2017 at 12:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

We are starting to think/jot down ideas for the BP entrance (just MOH and BM) and bridal entrance. We want nontraditional so have been looking through websites and such. Anyway - I really like some upbeat songs with a faster tempo. I am wondering (1) if people choose upbeat songs and (2) how do you walk in a "dignified" way to an upbeat entrance song?

Thanks for any advice!

ETA: clarification!

I like upbeat songs! The last wedding I went to, they walked down to "Fresh Eyes" so I thought that was super cool.

@Jane, did they walk slow or did they try to walk to the beat (which of course is faster?)

I really like Midnite String Quartet, they do covers for rock and pop songs. The BP is walking in to Taylor Swift "Love Story" and I'm walking in to Queen "You're my best friend." We're going to walk normal pace.

Are we talking ceremony or reception? We are doing a John Legend song for the ceremony but for the reception we are doing that Webbie song I got my people with me (clean version of course)

    "Somewhere over the rainbow" -israel

    "Marry you" -bruno mars

    "My girl" -Temptations

"You make my dreams" -hall and oates

"Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours" -stevie wonder

    "Treasure" -bruno mars

"Ain't no mountain high enough" -Marvin gaye

These are some of the songs I'll be choosing from! I want to do an upbeat one for ceremony and reception entrances! And I think you just walk regular pace with a smile on your face!

My friend did "All I do is win" for our entrance song for the bridal party. Each pair walking in did their own sort of dance on their way to the table and I definitely want an up beat song for mine too!! It's a happy time! Celebrate! You just got married!

Your question actually made us think of this scene from Glee -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qOT1GR39IQ

People do march to upbeat songs, especially in the non-traditional weddings. It creates that fun celebratory element... You could consult your DJ and have him adjust the tempo to go along with their pace, and they could walk casually down the aisle, not necessarily to the beat of the song. Hope this helps! Good luck!
