Thinking of Making the Bouquets for Bridesmaids

Stephanie, on October 1, 2019 at 3:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 51

Hey Ladies. I am thinking of making the bouquets for my BM's myself. However, I am not the craftiest person in the world, but I also feel like I can do just about anything. Is it hard? Has any one of you ladies made the bouquets yourself? Would it be the inexpensive route or would it cost about the same to get them made? I have 11 BM'sSmiley surprise

I went to Michael's and found that they often times had already made artificial flowers bouquets for really cheap. So I just bought those for my bridesmaids

Amazon has those too. Already made artificial flower bouquets.

But I think if you keep it simple, it wouldn't be too hard. Check You Tube for any instructional videos, as I thought I read someone on here mention those.

If you give yourself enough time to practice, I'm sure you could come up with something pretty for your girls.

Yes, I did. However, I basically just re-worked five to make 6 (added some Flowers to the the last one to make the toss 💐)

Hey Cristy. I can't stay off Amazon to save my life. I was looking on there and they have some bouquets that are already made but not with the flowers that I am using for my wedding. I will order the flowers I like from them and see if I can find a simple YouTube video and try to piece it together myself. I will post some pics when I do. Y'all don't laugh at me. Lol

Nope. No laughing. I promise! I'm in a similar boat. Trying to save money, so DIYing as much as I can. But it's not easy! I'm eager to see what you come up with!

I was actually thinking of brooch bouquets. I think they’re so beautiful. Was it expensive or did you just find brooches on sale while thrifting?

I got the bulk while out thrifting, then realized I needed some smaller “filler” brooches so I ordered packs on Amazon... it was like 20 in a pack for $12. All in all I may have spent about $100 for all the materials and supplies and made 4 bouquets... (and still have some brooches left over)

Dollar tree or Walmart flowers with stems wrapped in twine. Easy and cheap

I have 11 bridesmaids too and I’m finishing their bouquets with faux flowers from hobby lobby as we speak! It’s not too difficult but times 11 (actually 12 since I still have to do my bouquet too) it can get overwhelming! This is my big DIY project though so my advice is to make sure you’re not taking on too much. Also, I bought the flowers months ago and didn’t work on them until after the return deadline passed. Once I started trimming the stems I realized that there was a thick metal wire running through the middle of the plastic stems! I had to literally get heavy duty wire cutters from Lowe’s. It worked, but was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. Overall though, I’m happy with how the bouquets are coming along and like that they’ll be a nice keepsake.

We did the flowers at my 1st wedding and that is the plan this time. I enjoy DIY stuff and I feel like you I can do just about anything 🤗. The cost really depends on what flowers you use if using real if they are in season or not it really just depends.

I'm thinking of having them carry one big sunflower. I'm getting married in Fall. I can't see spending $600 on something that's going to die in two days. That's me. I thought about making the flowers but I watched cheap weddings on Netflix and changed my mind lol

I found bridesmaid bouquets on Amazon for $8 each, I have 10 bridesmaids, so I was able to get a 10 pack for $50! Definitely a great find!

I purchased pre made bouquets on clearance at Michael's and re-worked and added flowers to them. I've included before and after pictures.
