Thinking of changing my date

Monica, on June 3, 2020 at 1:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
This is my 1st time posting here. My wedding date is scheduled for 10/17/20 in RI. I am worried that people won't come due to virus and also concerned that those who do come won't be able to have fun due to restrictions. I am getting older and my fiance and I want to start a family soon. I recently found out that my venue and many of my vendors are available on valentine's day. I think getting married on that date would be so romantic. We are on the fence about changing the date. Does anyone have any advice. My dad thinks it makes sense my mother in law thinks it is crazy. Just looking for opinions and thoughts.

It's really a decision for you and your FH. We are planning an outdoor wedding in the Keys and plan to move forward with our 10/10 date. You can't predict what will happen, but the one thing I feel confidant in assuming is the world will not shut down again because of Covid. The financial impact is too great on the world.

Only you know what's happening in your state, what does your venue say? Valentines day is "romantic" but why did you choose 10/17? Was it a significant date? We chose our date because of it's significance, so we're not willing to change it.

We honestly chose 10/17 randomly. I mean we did meet in October but other than that no real significance. Ah this virus is so frustrating.

Incredibly frustrating. - But I'd like to think out of all this something good will come forward and we'll be reminded to think about what's really important (granted different for everyone).

Do what's best for your and your FH - don't listen to anyone else (even family) at the end of the day, it's YOURS and your FHs day.... no one else matters (even if they do)

My wedding was originally planned for November 8,2020
But we decided with all the uncertainty to just postpone until next year so our new date is 11.07.2021 🤷🏼‍♀️ Sucks to wait another year but then again lol better safe than sorry

We had planned on 10/23/2020, our ten year anniversary. This week we decided to postpone the wedding til 9/4/2021. I had been wavering about making the call, but as soon as l did I felt instantly better.

We are still getting married on our original date but it was be a small thing with just our parents. But we wanted to wait to have a reception until we felt more like our guests could actually enjoy it and not have this cloud overhead.

So do what works best for you guys! Chances are, your gut already knows.
