This thread is for my fellow stressed out brides and the brides with anxiety (like myself) This year I've gained some new perspective between FFIL being in the hospital for over a month, my grandpa passing away and then my grandma one month later. My cousin texted me that her website is the same as ours and she was going to change it which was super nice but not necessary at all. Does it really matter that we both have great taste? It got me thinking of how much I worry about that doesn't even matter like STDs matching invites and having pretty stamps on the envelopes.

Name something that in the grand scheme of life doesn't matter that you worry about...and then let it go!

Perfect thread for today. I am sitting here thinking about what I can cut down on in order to be able to afford a videographer which I've wanted from day 1 but with everything else didn't think it was possible. I also was dreading the floral aspect since in my eyes flowers with wilt in a day or two so why spend hundreds or thousand on flowers. Flowers don't really matter to either of us so I think I may cut them all together.

I needed this. I have been planning our wedding with my FH cousins wedding in the back of my mind. Her wedding was back in January and it cost $80,000 which her father paid for. Our budget is $15,000 and I have been worried that our wedding won't be as grand as hers. But I need to remember that it's our wedding. And whatever we have or don't have doesn't matter. It's about us and our kids and that's it.

I decided pretty early to skip programs and printed menus for the table. They're a nice touch, but really not necesery and one less thing to think/stress about have pay for. I also decided to skip the favors for the same reason. The amount of money and time that goes into them relative to their importance for the entire reception just wasn't worth it to me.

I think it's crazy when brides freak out worrying "something might go wrong" or "everything has to be perfect" Its a big very detailed event with a lot of people and an open bar...there's no way everything will go perfectly as planned.

    Great post.

@ Alice, I hope your mother recovers, my thoughts are with you.

My profession is very stressful, it's high pressure, high tempo, and shows me every day that life is not promised nor easy. So when we started planning I had the perspective of not sweating the little things. Then I got on this site and started thinking "am I not taking this seriously enough?"

Things that didn't matter to me: super fancy decor, fancy invites, a large party. We went simple and everyone said it was beautiful. Most people are there to celebrate, not to care about your decor. Most invites end up getting thrown away so I didn't care about something super fancy. Also, we kept the guest list small and it was wonderful. Sure we wish some more people could have been there, but in the end we still got married and had a great time. People understand you can't invite every single person.
