Brandi ♥'s Chris, on January 11, 2011 at 8:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

So I was thinking of having this song for the garter toss. Do you think it's too sexy or would it be ok??? Honest opinions please and thanks in advance

I think it's a bit much for a wedding, personally.

I was in my friend wedding this past October and this was their 1st dance song.... I can't remember what he tossed the garter to. I don't know what song I'm going to use.... I do know that "Single Ladies" is what I will be tossing my bouquet to.

I think if you want to use it, use it in private. Maybe make a mix cd for your wedding night?

I love this song and wouldn't think anything of it if I attended a wedding and it was used, but I just don't know if other people might like, get offended or something.

@ Samantha, glad to know someone has used it in a wedding...

Also, keep in mind, it wouldn't be the whole song...

It seems to me like you like the song, so use it. I danced to it at my engagement party.

Since you LOVE it, then I think that you should definitely use it. You want to have music that is sentimental to you, and it would make a great garter song. Maybe he can do a little dance for you. LOL

Wow I love the song. I think you need to be aware that the guests are not all young and hip. So think about the words before you use it. That is a hard thing for me to remember. The music I like is not what Mom and FMIL like. Our guest list is mostly older so I do not think I would use it.

Hmm I think that perhaps with the entertainment of the garter the older people may not really notice so much the lyrics..Like you said it's not the whole song..i think the video adds to the sexiness of it (well obviously! lol). It's not like remember that song Next-Too close; or whatever that was lol or Magic Stick . I think people will be fine..You could always maybe too if you are worried have some sort of instrumental version?

Love the song, but there is a part that goes "with all my heart, you don't need a ring". Don't think it's wedding savy. A good song tho.

Yes ladies, I know the words to the song, that's why I was asking for opinions. I really don't think the older people will be listening so hard to the lyrics. I just love the song and wanna hear it at some point on my day. It's so smooth and sexy... gotta love some Usher. Anyways I'm gonna have alot of songs that some of the crowd may not like. Alot of hip hop, but all edited versions...

What is it about this particular song (of ALL of Usher's catalog) that says "wedding song"? I just don't get it. *shrugs*
