Themes

I’m about 8 months away from my wedding. Originally, I was thinking a rustic theme, but there hasn’t been anything concrete making it a rustic themed wedding. I guess I’m trying to ask... Do wedding have to have a theme? And when is it too late to change it? TIA!

Themes are totally optional! You can also change your theme whenever you'd like. Don't stress over this Smiley smile

You don't have to have a theme. You can just do colors.

I agree that you dont need to have a theme. I think that's a Pinterest/professional wedding planner/internet invention. I think as long as the look of it seems cohesive and the decor is complimentary, it's going to be great. I also agree that an easy way to do this is to surround your decor around a color palette.

The first time I got married I tried to plan a wedding and was struggling. I knew what I kinda wanted(color wise) but could never get a clear vision. My ex husband and I got married at the courthouse. My FH and I decided on our 1930s hollywood glam theme based on my dream dress style and his favorite suit style. After that the planning became very easy for us. I like to say I had trouble before due to the fact that I was with the wrong person. You definitely don't need a theme. As long as you have a clear vision of your wedding you are on the right track. Enjoy your day!

Our theme is a mixture between rustic, elegant and classic. I love it!

They do not need a theme. If you haven't done anything in terms of decor yet then go ahead and change it

Your “theme” is just Wedding! No one expects you to have a theme, I’m only doing one because I really wanted to. Not having a quirky theme makes it SO much easier to put together! You don’t have to worry about everything matching your single idea.

We are mixing rustic with beachy because we are having a beach wedding but we both have a rustic sense of style. I don't think a theme is needed but its all up to personal preference

We were just going to do colors but decided on a destination wedding and traveling is a huge part of our life so we opted to add in travel aspects and theme of travel kind of emerged throughout.

As far as my theme goes it’s purple!!! No you don’t have to have a theme, a nice color palette to tie everything together is all you need.

We didn't have a set theme, we're just using winter/holiday inspired decor and styles.

I said we didn't really have a theme, but my sister said that it was romantic love or now that we added a glow stick table a 90's love theme. Most of our signs say love in them and we are sticking to mostly 90's music so I'll go with it.

But in the end you don't need a theme
