The worst centerpieces mockup

MAC ~N~ ME, on March 17, 2010 at 4:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

So yesterday was my first and final centerpiece mockup for my reception decoration. When i got there and saw how the table was going to look i was so desapointed the vase had watermarks and inside the cylinder vase was a platic and full of water when what i told them i wanted was a calla lily with some clear marbles with petals and the lady new because i send her pictures and talked about it several times. the flowers were old and you can tell right away. it had wilow when i told her i didnt want it on them. I have 4 diffrent arrangements and she only did one. and it didnt have the lighting i wanted on them, the linen had so many stains it was unbelivable. Im Like supper mad. know we have another mockup day and im taking her a paper with terms and conditions for them to sign on what im expecting and if they mess up on the day of then ill get my money back. Im a paying customer and should get what I asked for, right ir wrong ladys?

    Hi,

I would speak with your florist and have her do a revised mock up. Tell her your concerns in a professional and calm way. If she doen't prove you wrong on the second mock up, I would look for another florist or take your chances.

The mock up should be pristine! You would think if they really want your buisness they should be out to really impress you. If you still have time you may consider finding someone else .........You lay out a lot of cash for florist you deserve perfection. Don't know what your budget is, but we set ours at 3 grand (were in NY )and if my florist set that up for me I would be out in a heart beat good luck

For 3 grand you should expect perfection. Or close to it. Good luck!

I agree. for 3 grand you get perfection! lol. and i definitely say go you for getting a contract together for it! if you say you want one thing, and they give you something not as good, then they dont deserve the job. you go girl!

Many brides feel they should get a complete mock up of their table decor for free. If your vendors provide that...good for you, but for most this is just not realistic. The mock ups you see on TV are for $50,000 and up weddings and yes, they are pristine. There is a lot of time and cost involved in a mock up, esp if using live flowers. Of course, you need to feel good about your vendor and what they will be providing...but personally, if my brides don't trust me by looking at my portfolio and by my reputation...I probably don't want to work for them anyway.

Today is my second and last mockup will see how it goes. wish me luck ladys
