I hear you. The big shin dig isn't for everyone. Have you talked to your fiancé about other options, such as an elopement, small backyard wedding, destination wedding, etc?

We already booked venue. I might just cancel and take a loss.

I wouldn't jump to that just yet. If after some time passes and you both realize (once you're not as stressed) that canceling the venue would be best, then there is nothing wrong with that. But I am of the mindset that it is best not to take an unnecessary financial hit. May I ask what specifically has gotten you so stressed out? Just overwhelmed with everything? If so, I can relate. I am a country girl who is more comfortable in my over-all's, hanging out with my chickens and bees, wearing mud covered boots. The thought of a big white wedding and being the center of attention really freaked me out. When I went dress shopping with my mother and FMIL, I literally said out loud while walking into the bridal salon "Oh God, I feel like a lamb being led to the slaughter"! I wanted to elope, but my it meant a lot to my fiancé to have a traditional wedding, so I agreed. I had NO clue where to even start and felt very overwhelmed. I found this site to be a huge help and I also got very lucky with the first few bookings. I'm budget conscious and did a lot of online research to find a venue with a great deal. The first venue we actually looked at, we booked, and it came with a lot of things that look some stress away from me. The decorations, minus flowers, are included. the cake is included, as well as booze and food, and also a wedding coordinator. I told her that I had no idea what I was doing and she printed out a list of what things needed to get booked first. that was a HUGE help, as I have been just going down the list, looking up reviews on here, google, and yelp, and going from there. Sometimes I still have those days where I want to rip my hair out, but it's been much easier than what I had anticipated.

Premarital counseling/couples counseling because it shouldn't come down to no communication-this should be a happy time, not this. Hire a wedding planning if wedding planning is stressful.

What is making you feel this way? This should be a very happy time but this will also help you 2 to see how you handle the stressful times. Don't feel you need to have everything decided today, take your time with planning, hire a coordinator, push the date back, taje

Hey Jessica. Your wedding is month before mine!

You said you have a venue, what else do you have? What parts are stressing you out?

It seems to go in waves. I get freaked out and then calm down. Then freak out a bit more.

Deep breaths and decide what you want. At this point, I just want simple and small and my guest list keeps growing. So very thankful that the wedding venue restricts us to a little over 70.
