The unwritten rules, tips!

Naomi, on May 20, 2017 at 6:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

I have a venue that includes food, alcohol, servers and bartenders and my fees include gratuity. Who are the vendors that I provide tips to? The ones I can think of most obviously are, hair dresser/make up artist but I also have a photographer (who I will be giving a meal), officiant (who I intend to offer a meal), florist, cake baker, linen delivery. I also have a coordinator who is included with the venue. I'm so bad at this and I need to be super organized! And how much is customary?

I believe 15-20% is what it is. There are some other posts on this that I have seen. Try searching for those.

I had a venue who included alcohol and cake and gratuity was included in that. We tip the DJ the photographer the hair and make up. And the bartender got whatever tips people left in the jar. We gave 20%.

Pretty much anyone who goes above and beyond gets a tip. Mediocre vendors/services do not.

The knot's tipping guide is pretty comprehensive. Sorry WW. Best wishes!
