The Pittsburgh cookie table...

For those of you from southwestern Pennsylvania (or elsewhere) who had a cookie table, how many cookies did you plan for per guest? I'm trying to estimate how many cookies I'll need, and I have no idea where to begin. The only other dessert we are having is cupcakes in lieu of a wedding cake, so the cookie table is it. We're planning for about 175 guests.

    I am also doing a cookie table and having cupcakes instead of a cake. I have 150 people coming. But I still have not figured out how many yet

    I think we usually plan for 1 or 2 dozen per guest but it's been a while so I'm not 100% on that!

    @FutureMrsZottola that figure makes me want to leave work and start baking right now!! haha.. that sounds like a reasonable estimate to me, though-- thank you!

    I am planning about 3-4 cookies a person. I also have cake and a table with veggies and fruit as well as cheese and crackers on each table. We will also provide little bags so people can take some home.

    We had an insane amount of cookies! They were a gift from my dad's boss and his wife. (Boss's wife made them for us.) I think we ended up with like 900 cookies for about 80-85 guests. Folks were snacking on them all night and were encouraged to take some home, and there were still a ton leftover! I might still have some in the freezer. Smiley smile

    My mom baked 56 dozen cookies for 96 guests. It was way way way too many :-)

    I would estimate 4-5 cookies per guest (based on how many I've seen people take / eat at weddings with cookie tables).

    I (personally) think that half dozen (6 or 7) cookies are fine for each guest.
