"The Marriage Talk"

Very soon. Probably 5 months. I don't remember when and where, but FH told me he knew he wanted to marry me and I agreed. He proposed 2 months later. We did have a long engagement though. We wanted to ease into it and go through more seasons of life before hopping into marriage. We both felt a very strong connection early on.

Wow! That seems like a long time to me. Probably healthy though. My FH has been married before so I had a lot of concerns about what marriage meant to him. We had a lot of talks between getting engaged and setting a wedding date.

Almost immediately. My friend got married and invited both of us to her wedding. She even used him as a stand in groomsman!
I remember asking her if she really wanted someone I just recently started dating in her wedding party, she said she had a feeling we'd be together for a while. 😆
I should ask her how she knew before I did 😂

About a year in for us. I dont remember who started the conversation, it just sort of happened. We both knew we wanted our own place and a bit more stability before getting engaged so we waited a few more years. Got engaged about 3 1/2 years in. Get married in 10 days! And celebrate 6 yrs together at the end of August 😊

I don’t know how soon we talked about it, but fairly early I would assume basically just to feel each other out about it. Like if I knew he didn’t want to get married (he was divorced) then I don’t know if I would stay as that was a goal I had. We talked more seriously about it a little further into our relationship after my sister got married, mainly bc I knew my father did the embarrassing “when am I gonna need to rent another tux” speech to him lol. But we did get ideas in mind and he proposed 9 months later.

Lol, I love it!

Our relationship definitely moved on the fast track. We got pregnant very early in our relationship. By the time we found out we were in the "I love you" phase. Shortly after finding out we had the marriage discussion. We knew we didn't want to get married just because we were having a baby. Having a baby definitely brought us closer and we knew we wanted to get married when it was time. Our daughter will be one in a month and our wedding is in 2 years!

HA. I made it clear within 6 weeks that I was in it for the long haul.

FH is a lot younger than me, so it took him a bit longer. But we've been talking about it since the first months of our relationship.

I'm very stubborn and decisive.

How long after the talk did you get engaged?

I think I started it. A month into our relationship, I told him, "I work as hard as I do so I can support a family on my own back if need be. I'm looking for someone who feels the same way." We immediately knew, if the relationship continued, we'd be on the marriage path.

View Quoted Comment He hasn't officially proposed yet. A few weeks ago we were discussing when we thought we would get married. We both said in 2 yrs. So we started planning. I am anxiously awaiting the proposal. He loves to torture me by saying "when it happens, you aren't gonna see it coming".

Oh man maybe four or five months in we already talked about it. We didn't get engaged til two years in but we definitely planned towards it. He started the convo, much to the surprise of my friends ahah. Because I think I was much more eager for it but he's def the one to bring it up
