The Hair Debate

Kat_, on July 26, 2019 at 1:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 25
Up or down or a little of both? I’d love to hear how you’re doing your hair and please post pics! I can’t wait to see!

I also have a question.... I’m torn and curious if anyone has attempted an updo for the ceremony then take some down for the reception? I hear it’s not possible... but has anyone done this successfully?

I wanted up for ceremony and down for reception so my MOH told me to try the magic bun maker. It worked out when I tried it myself but I didn't like up on me at all so I ended up just doing half up half down

I am doing like this. I am having to get extensions because my hair is not long enough or thick enough to do this on its own.

I don't know anyone, personally, who has gone from up to down, but I have heard of it being done. It will probably be pretty pricey because you will likely need to have your HMUA there longer.

This is from my hair trial. I’m just not comfortable with my hair up and my fiancé likes this style too. I’ll have a veil for the ceremony and I’ll take it off for the reception. I will have had eight more months to grow my hair out since these pictures so hopefully it’ll be even prettier!

I am currently trying to decide between up or half up/half down! My FH always says he loves my hair up, but I have a little bit of acne scars on the back of my shoulders and might want to cover those a little...

These are the styles I am looking at, I just don't know what to do!

My hair trial isn’t til next week but at this point I’m thinking updo. We’ll be outside and the breeze is a factor, also it’ll be hot and I won’t want hair on my neck.

This was my trial, which looked nothing like my day of hair looked like (still annoyed about that but it looked fine day of lol). It is messy looking because we tried a couple different styles this day (and my hair just doesn't cooperate lol), but you get the idea. My hair is way too thin to wear half up/half down and it was HOT outside so it wouldn't have lasted through pictures,

I'm really wanting to do a loose side updo for the ceremony. My theme is 1930s so it would go great but it's not totally a "me" look. I want to do a side ponytail for the reception. Hoping to be able to accomplish this.

If you’re worried about breeze that’s a good call. Plus you know it will look awesome all night when it’s up!

All of these hairstyles here are fabulous. Right now I'm trying to get my hair to grow faster. I cut all my hair off RIGHT before my FH proposed in May, so I had no idea. I always imagined I would have a beautiful up-do at my wedding, and now I have no hair D:

I was thinking all up, because it'll be August and hot, but my hair trial is tomorrow, and my friend/hairstylist asked me for lots of ideas.

So, I think we'll just play.
