The Garbage Table 🍽️

The Bride, on September 17, 2019 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Have you ever heard of the wedding table where people put all of the guest they really didn't want to invite? Well that is called the "Garbage Table" some also refer to it as the "Reject Table".

Will you have one at your wedding? Why or why not?

No. Everyone that is invited/ attending is someone at least one of us wanted to invite. Things cost way to much money to invite people you don't want.

We had an Apocalypse Table (we didn’t really have people we didn’t like at our wedding)

We tried to sit friends who knew each other together and we ended up with one table filled half way with very wildly conservative guests and another table half-filled with incredibly vocally liberal guests. Instead of doing two half tables we just put them together and prayed politics didn’t come up. Luckily they ended up talking about brewing, sports, and travel.

No because it seems mean to me. I'm trying to integrate people who's personalities match

Reminds me of the premise for "Table 19". 🤣
We didn't have any unwanted guests, but did feel bad for those seated at tables near the entrance of the ballroom.

I agree, everyone who received an invite to my wedding was someone I wanted to be there, even plus ones.

That was a risky decision, I'm glad it turned out well.

I guess it would only be mean if those people knew about it. My husband and I matched our guests based on their relationships to one another and personalities.

No. We tried seating people who knew one another at a table. We didn't invite anyone unwanted

I beat my head against my desk at work for days trying to make sure everyone was seated with people they knew. The stragglers (late RSVPs) kept throwing off my seating chart so eventually I just started putting them in open spots at the last available table. It's a table full of people who are seated away from people they actually know since those tables were full. So I guess that's my "This is What Happens When You Don't RSVP in Time" table.

I didn't know until a few days ago. I'm constantly researching topics related to marriage and weddings.
