the final diy garland after i changed my centerpieces about 100 times.

Nicole, on July 19, 2019 at 8:25 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 13 31
So I changed my centerpiece about four times over the course of planning. Always planned on DIY. Really wanted to have eucalyptus garlands but not willing to spend $10 a foot when I can DIY it for much less.

The three feet pictured here cost $25 in grocery store greenery, plus my parents garden’s dusty miller and faux roses. I bought two bunches of seeded eucalyptus, one bunch of baby blue eucalyptus and a half bunch of babys breath. 3 feet took me about 20 minutes to make, excluding the prep work of trimming the greenery.

I am pricing everything out through Sam’s club right now. I’ll let you know how much it costs in the long run.

Let me me know if you want a DIY video! We plan on banging out about 9 ten foot garlands, two 8 foot garlands, and two wreaths.

So I bought the frame at Michaels, I am also going to spray paint the stand gold or black because I don't like the wood color. As far as the sign, I custom made it on Zazzle and it only cost $12 plus shipping!

Ooh that’s good to know!! The price for a sign from the stationer doing our invites is too much but that’s super reasonable!

This is exactly what I was looking at doing. I would like the DIY videos and find out the cost.

I saw that costco has 25 feet of garland for 99.00. I was think of using that to make wreaths and doing the roses .

    Would love to see!

These table centrepieces are seriously goals! You did such an amazing job of this. I remember getting a quote from my florist for this sort of style and it was sooo expensive.

Beautiful! I love eucalyptus! We plan to DIY our flowers too, primarily just bouquets and greenery for the tables.

UPDATE: I split the garland in half to see how it would fare over a couple days. One I left outside in the 100 degree New York record-breaking heat, and the other I left in our cool 68 degree basement which I spritzed morning and night. Within about 48 hours both were no where near as lively and nice looking, and the one outside was (not surprisingly) completely wilted. After the recommendation of some florists I am ordering crowning glory flower spray off Amazon, and going to mist a bit more often. I'll try it again with grocery greenery at the end of next week again once my spray comes in. Hopefully it lasts longer this time since I plan on making the garlands the Thursday before our Saturday wedding. Otherwise, I will have to rethink timing.

Thank you! Diameter I am not positive, though it was about three feet long as a garland. The cylinder vases and candles were purchased through yummicandles.com. 36 vases and slim candles for $175.00.
