The cost

Does anyone else get any anxiety about how much your day is costing? I have been so stressed out so much.

All the time! But I'm just trying to keep it all in perspective as this is the most important day of our lives (other than the birth of our children lol). I'm the one who keeps saying "we really don't need that" and my FH keeps saying "if you want it, then let's do it". I'm still trying to keep cost down as much as possible though.

Yes!! This is why I can’t find a venue! I can’t imagine spending THAT much on one day. But, I don’t want to elope either 🙄

That’s what my fb keeps telling me too. He tells me he doesn’t want me not having the things I love bc of cost. It’s nice to hear I’m not the only one freaking out!

Absolutely, we are paying for everything ourselves and at the start of our planning we almost cancelled it because of the money but we really cut our spending and worked hard, shopped for deals and put every dime we could to the wedding and somehow we are doing it.

I do. Making things simpler helps. I decided to focus on the most important things and let go of certain things. I am not sending printed saves the dates. I decided to use evite for that and a link.
I try to focus my mind on other things and spend time doing pleasurable activities. I also pray a lot, look for savings and learned to ask myself if something is a necessity, a want, or a need. My fiancé is also good with budgeting and keeping me calm.

Literally every day. Anytime I actually think about how much we're spending it makes me want to throw up. But I just keep telling myself it's all going to be worth it, and then we have a beautiful vacation after.

I’m so stressed out all the time! Luckily my parents have graciously offered to help with half. I’m often having “buyers remorse” and wish we would have eloped in a private ceremony and then had everyone over for a bbq or something.

Everyone keeps telling me it’ll all be worth it!

Every now and then, but we have a plan in place for paying off balances. But I won't lie when I say I'm looking forward to people saying "no" haha. Smiley xd

A little bit, but we made a budget in the beginning and have stuck to it.

Yes Ma'am - It gets me all the time but I have to remind myself that everything plus honeymoon for less than 15k isn't bad at all. But then I think about the little things that have to be done too and panic all over again lol. Just breathe girl and take it a day at a time. Find things to cut back on as you can - for instance, we are getting married on a Monday, venue includes food, cake, beer & wine for 7k. Cheaper day vs a Saturday Smiley smile

All the time. We figured we would just elope but found under elopement that the prices include up to 20 people so, elopement/micro, whatever you want to call it. We'll probably have closer to 30 and just pay the extra per person cause it's not that much. We didn't want a huge one to begin with. Instead of having a full reception, we're thinking of reserving a private room at a restaurant for either lunch or dinner, depending on what time we end up having the ceremony. There's a lot being sacrificed but it's things we can live without.

I had a lot of anxiety at the beginning. And then as I started nearing the top of my budget. But now that I'm a week away... I'm ready for it to just be over haha! I hope it's not just me that either just got desensitized to it or just dgafs now.

Definitely. I think we didn't really have a clear idea of what things cost going in! We can afford it thankfully but there's definitely been some sticker shock!

I think my Fiance has more anxiety about money than I do. But I also planned my wedding being very cost effective on vendors and things we need for the wedding. I research plenty of vendors who were in our budget before I settles on anything. I believe that is why anxiety on finances haven't hit me as much BC I know I was very fair at picking great vendor with reasonable prices. Flowers took the longest bc i refused to pay over 1000 for personal flowers.

I'm still undecided because of price. I can do a full traditional wedding in Northern California for around $15k by penny pinching at every turn, but it's possible. Or I can get married on the beach in the Lake Tahoe and have a large restaurant reception for way less. I just can't commit to either...

All the time. I really wished that we eloped. Between the cost, dealing w/ people restrictive diets & general stress of trying a please everyone. I can say in all honesty that I cannot wait until the wedding. Nothing is fun about planning.
