Thank yous

Future Mrs. Lowder, on December 28, 2020 at 10:00 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 10
Hey y’all..

I’m working on our thank you cards and was wanting to include a picture of us...Is this weird? If not, should I use a wedding picture or another picture of us? I know a lot of our family likes to keep updated pictures... thoughts?

I personally don't think it's weird, especially since your family members like to keep updated pictures! I think a wedding picture would be a great idea, since the thank you notes are related to your wedding.

I've seen a lot of wedding thank you cards where a wedding photo is attached!

That’s what I’m doing! Waiting for my wedding pictures back so I can send them along with the thank you cards.

I would include the photo as part of the card, not just a copy of a photo inside the card. I think that would, unfortunately, end up being a waste of money. If you do want to do it this way, I would include a photo of the two of you with that specific guest if possible.

Only wait 2-3 weeks for pictures, or by the time you get cards, will already be annoyed at you. Most of the gifts you get will be from showers, or arrive shipped before your wedding. You need to thank people immediately, not 3-4 months down the line. Nice engagement pictures that you have made into blank cards that you can write thank you notes in are great, though, and can be ordered and arrive before your first gifts. If you have a long engagement, some gifts may arrive 4 or more months before. Have 2 blank cars for every invitation. Some for shower gifts. Some for wedding gifts where you receive two packages, months apart die to store shipping, or for those who give a physical gift, then separately give money. We are in an area and a culture where everyone gives a physical gift, and it is rude for anyone but older family to give you money. But all 8 checks we got at wedding time, having already received and thanked them for presents shipped or dropped off weeks and weeks before. So, Between showers, splits of money/ gift or 2 gifts at different times, and people who perform services for you, like 10 airport trips, or making welcome bags, or give you a shower, 2 per invitation is a minimum.

What I did was as the card it was like a collage of pictures of us from our photographer as the card. Then if there was a picture of them with us or of them dancing we printed those pictures out and included that in the envelope.

It's definitely not uncommon to use wedding photos as a thank you card. If you can make it work, I feel like it would be nice one with wedding photos.

We had thank you cards printed with 1 of our wedding photos. That's been the norm at weddings we've been to as well.

I would prefer a timely thank you card that is generic on the front. Send out holiday cards with your wedding photos

Including a wedding photo with your thank you card is a great idea. My FH and I plan to do the same. However, I wouldn’t wait too long after the wedding to send the thank you cards.
