Thank you cards

kelsey, on July 2, 2019 at 12:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
Our wedding was a month ago, and things are now settling down enough to start writing thank you cards! We are moving at the end of the month and I wanted to get them all done before the move. However it occurred to me today that if I wait to send them after our guests will have our new address. We still do not where we will be living or I would insert a card announcing the moving with our new address.

What would you do? Go ahead and knock them out or wait and give everyone a life update with the card?

I'd say write them out and address them, then stick a your new return address on them as soon as you know it. That way the biggest part is done.

I'd write them & address them, then send them after you have the new address!

I agree write them all seal and address to recipient then address with your new address once you know it and mail them out

Unfortunately, I feel like a lot of guest "wait" for the thank you cards.. something to give them to gossip about... whether you sent them in a timely manner, or late, or didn't write enough, etc.. if it were me, I would send them out as soon as you get them!! Especially since you are unsure of where you're moving too.. which means your move date could get pushed further back.

I'd put a return label with the new address on it on the cards.

I would send them out ASAP. I sent mine out within 2 weeks of my wedding. Most within the first week. I actually got a ton of people thanking me for my thank you card. 🤣 Guests are happy when they receive them quickly.

Write now if you’d like but I’d wait to send until you have your new address. I had a couple returned to me (people moved). I don’t know if the post office returns and forwards to new address or if they would just leave it at your old address?

Send them out asap. Especially since you don't know yet where you're moving.
