Thank You Cards for Vendors - what do you say? when to write it?

Sarah, on October 7, 2017 at 3:54 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Hi guys,

My wedding is about a month away but I want to get started on my thank you cards for the vendors. Obviously I know that we're going to thank them for their services, etc. But what else do you say? I won't be able to know how their actual service for the day of is going to be until the day of the wedding. Do you just mention the good job they've done so far?

Do people just write the thank you cards on the day of? I don't think I would have enough time.

Advice please Smiley smile

@Susan - I don't know. I mean we're going to tip them too but you know, I'll put the tip in an envelope might as well give them a card too no?

I think it's a nice gesture to include a card with the tip. I would just say something like thank you for your services and everything you did to make our day perfect. Or something like that.

Sure, if you love the job they did for you. Any business enjoys that. Wait until after the wedding, or they have completed the job for you. Yes, a note if they have a place to display it, or maybe a nice review on yelp or elsewhere?

I think it's a little much to do thank you cards, unless they really went above and beyond... you paid for a service.

I wrote up thank you cards and put the tips in the cards. I think if you want to, it's nice. I will still review the vendors, but thought it was a little more personal to write a quick note to accompany the tip.

I was just going to thank them for being a part of our day and for all they had done up to this point. My photographer did our engagement shoot. And my DJ has been amazing with helping me plan my time line and everything. I, personally, just felt like it was weird to give them an envelope of cash. And of course, I'll leave a review after the wedding.

A thank you note for your vendors is certainly a nice touch! If you write them I would wait until after the wedding so that you can thank them for specific things from the wedding day.

Even more important than thank you notes are reviews!!! Make sure to review all of your vendors on WeddingWire!
