Thank you cards for Engagement Party?

Our engagement party is next weekend, and we have asked guests to please not bring us any gifts. We just want everyone to come and celebrate with us! Of course, if someone were to bring a gift anyway, I would promptly send a thank you card.

My question is should I be sending thank you cards to every guest, regardless of a gift, just to thank them for being there? I haven't come across any advice on this so far. What do you ladies think?

(I started thinking about this after the post about thank you cards for every guest after the wedding)

I just sent them to the host (my maid of honor) and the person who let us use her new house (bridesmaid). Nobody brought gifts but that was because the host asked them not to. Everyone brought wine though so we went home with like 30 bottles. LOL!

We wrote thank you cards to everyone. We asked for no gifts and almost everyone brought us one. We just thought it was safe to send it to everyone.

Almost everyone that came to our engagement party brought a gift. the people that didn't contributed to the party some sort of way so we did send thank you cards to everyone.

Every engagement party I have attended I received a thank you card. Whether your guests adhere to your request for no gift or not, please send every guest a thank you.
