Thank you card advice!

Katie, on July 2, 2012 at 5:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

We are getting ready to send out our thank you cards. I was wondering how to word a couple of the cards. We received a card from someone who was not at the wedding... just a card, not a gift. I thought it was so thoughtful and obviously, I want to send them a thank you card for it. I was thinking of something like "thank you so much for thinking of us on our special day..." but i don't really know what else to say... I would like for it to be more than 2 lines! Advice??

I added, "We wish you could have been here"

How about "Thank you so much for thinking of us on our special day. We wish you could have been there to celebrate with us. Hope to see you soon!"

Well the thing is... They weren't invited... It was a family only affair... So I'm not sure how I would feel if someone said "wish you could've been there" when I was never even invited??? I don't know... Is that still OK to say?

If they weren't invited I definitely wouldn't say "wish you could have been there". Maybe something like "Thank you so much for thinking of us on our special day. We feel blessed to have you in our lives." or maybe mention something about how happy/excite you are to be married and to begin your lives together.

I'm sure some of the other ladies will have some grea suggestions!
