Thailand or Hawaii?

My fiance was deployed to Thailand and my duty station was Hawaii! We both loved our locations. Thailand is cheap and the accommodations are incredible. Hawaii is freaking gorgeous but definitely pricey. While I'd say go with whatever you want, you are already in Hawaii and island hopping flights are cheap. To get back to Hawaii could costs you thousands in the future especially depending on where you are on the mainland. Hawaii is one of those "once in a liftletime" trips for many people simply due to just the flight costs alone! Plus each island is so different that it would feel like a vacation. Thailand may be more affordable down the road, when kids are possibly involved or heck, even retirement! That's just my thought but obviously do whatever you want! It is your trip!

I vote Thailand! Hawaii is pretty, but it’s expensive and you’re still in the U.S. and to me doesn’t feel like vacation. We wanted to do Thailand but didn’t have a enough time since I feel like you need at least two weeks, so we’re saving Thailand for another trip. There are a lot of great blogs, etc online that talk about where to go and stay for a honeymoon there. Have fun!

Thailand would be way cheaper lol. The food is amazing. I vote Thailand! My sister has been to both and spent way less in Asia! You can island hop around Phuket. Also help care for elephants in Chiang Mai up north. I love it there.

I have family in Thailand which is why I’m so familiar. It’s my dads hometown. I recommend also looking for Airbnb! I stayed at an amazing one with concierge. Let me know if you need suggestions on what to see if you’re feeling adventurous.
