Tequila Shots

Hannah, on September 4, 2019 at 6:01 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Of our guests, I’m estimating about 110 of them will likely be drinking. How much tequila should I buy if we are doing shots only? We have all our beer & wine but I’m worried we will have either too much or too little tequila!

Wooow tequila shots!?!? That's intense! I have no advice, but I would not be having a tequila shot at a wedding or even at a bar... It's been a solid 10 years since I've had a tequila shot!

I agree! Wow, shots, shots shots!! Is everyone really going to have a tequila shot, though? It's really hard to pinpoint. You probably would need only 3-4 1.14 liter bottles if it's just going to be mainly for shots!

Thank you! We were gifted giant bottle of tequila over the weekend and since our wedding is next week, we figured we might as well put it to use then (otherwise it would probably sit in our freezer for years). I didn’t want to complicate things last minute by adding a whole cocktail so, we’re going to offer shots. I might not even buy another bottle - but our crowd will probably be into it as everyone is pretty young. I think we’ll stick to the big bottle and if it runs dry someone can hop on over to the Walmart next door.

There is never too much tequila! 😂 I would be doing this but my venue does not allow shots (probably a good thing with my crowd though)

Tequila sunrise is pretty uncomplicated... Tequila, oj, grenadine. Shot just seem dangerous to me especially tequila. Some people don't handle tequila well. Hopefully nobody makes a scene

This is such a fun idea honestly. My FH husbands family would LOVE this. You could make something fun out of it as well.

For about 30 people, we had 4 round of tequila double shots (didn’t know they were double shots lol) Went through about 4 tequila bottles. It’s better to have too much than too little. Depending on the store you can always take them back.

Doing it in rounds is a great idea, I think we’re going to do that. Easy way to regulate it. Thank you!

The tequila cost is one thing, but what's the cost on crowd clean up? 😂

We did signature shots (where it's like a super super super strong 'drink' made into a tiny shot). Since they were mixed it used slightly less liquor. We also used the same alcohol as our mixed signature cocktail.

-How many hours will the bar be allowing shots?

-Will you be having people asking for doubleshots?

Are you providing your own liquor? Where are you getting it from?

Just a suggestion, but you may want to check with your venue/bartenders before you offer shots. I’ve been in several weddings where the venues don’t allow shots (liability reasons and to keep guests from getting too hammered).

Will you have soda available? I would assume you'll have some guests wanting tequila & sprite or drinks like that, even if they are really simple.

Tequila shots instead of champagne for toasts would be a fun idea. If I could handle tequila at all Smiley xd
