Tent or no tent!

Sandra, on January 4, 2018 at 6:10 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
I've been back and forth on this for months.... We are having a backyard reception in the same location as our ceremony and i just can't decide if we need a tent for a july wedding. It's entirely shaded by high trees with a common breeze off the lake and the yard is hardly big enough for a tent... We are having a late ceremony/dinner because well, July and I'm not worried about shade or heat but all i can envision is a beautiful open space but i have this terrible fear it will rain. I just don't know what to do.
Any words of wisdom?
Thank you

With it being In July I would say a tent Justin in case of the rain . Or plan for it until you see the weather right before the wedding .

Always have a plan b for an outside wedding. Thankfully my venue has a pavilion in the back. But always have a plan b.

Tent for sure! What if there's a storm?!

So the problem is with the tent that's all you really see is the 10th but I agree I would have a hard time having a outdoor reception in July knowing it could rain. Such a tough choice

Defintely have a tent reserved in case it rains. You can’t wait until the last minute and have no back up plan

They do have tents that are clear, which means you’d have coverage from rain but still have that open look.

Definitely get the tent. Much better to have it and not need it than the other way around. Look into the clear tent as PP suggested.

You can place a deposit with most tent rental companies -- that will keep them on hold and you can cancel up until the day of. I'm not sure where you live, but I recommend paying for the rental and having the tent on site -- they're not terribly hard to set up if you can't have the company do it. Since it's a backyard ceremony, I'm sure you'll be able to find a place to store the tent if you don't end up using it.
