Tell us about your shoes

What are you planning to wear under the dress? Are you going for white or color, heels or flats? Do you plan to wear them all night or go barefoot at some point? Do you have experiences as a guest on what to avoid?

I had small white kitten heels with an inch wide heel that I kept on all night.

Some tips you may wish to consider for wedding shoes:
    - the higher the heel, the more you may want a shoe change at some point. But remember, your dress is altered to your shoes, and it may be dragging all night if you go barefoot or switch to a flatter shoe- unless you expressly take photos of your shoes, you may not even see them in your pictures. I tried to find a picture of mine in my album and there's only half shots of when they peeked out from under my hem. This may impact your choice of color, depending on if you want a peek of color, or for shoes to be front and center- if you are having a wedding anywhere where you'll be on grass, gravel, brick, etc., you may want a thicker heel so you don't sink in. My one inch wide heels were fine for grass and gravel. They also make heel stoppers to put on thinner heels to widen the base- I wore some with thin heels to my friends backyard wedding and successfully avoided aerating her parents' lawn with my shoes.

I'm all about comfort! I wore comfortable flats to our destination celebration, and I'm wearing either studded loafers or a pair of doc martens to our civil ceremony. I know a lot of people get blingy shoes or expensive heels, etc. for their wedding, because it makes the event feel more "special". I think if you are one of those people, then splurge on the fancy shoes! For me, I wanted to be comfortable and just feel like myself. I'm rather tall, so I don't wear heels in my personal life; so I definitely didn't want to suffer through them on my wedding day. And I'm also not a sparkly/blingy person, so those types of shoes just wouldn't fit my personality/style.

I chose color! Personally I don't love the look of white shoes so I knew if I went that route, I'd never wear them again. I also chose to wear 5" heels because my husband is 9" taller than me. He jokes that he is going to develop back problems from bending over to kiss me lol. I wore them all night without much issue. My feet started feeling a little sore within the last half hour or so.

I’m so excited about my shoes! They’re sparkly and magical. 😍 My bridesmaids are in blue with silver shoes, so I thought it would be fun to kind of reverse that and have blue shoes for a little peep of color under the dress.

I have to wear flats because I have arthritis in my feet. I have a pair of sparkly white tennis shoes to change into for the reception if I need to. I’d say go with whatever you’re comfortable in — some people can be comfortable in heels, so go for it if that’s you! If you change for the reception, just remember that your dress was hemmed for the other shoes and may drag.

These are my shoes! I'm not a heel girl at all and just wanted something comfortable. I found these on Etsy and loved all the little details and they custom made them in blue for me!

I needed both height (my FH is 6'4") and comfort. I have a terrible time finding comfortable heels that don't pinch or slip so I went with high heel white lace up boots. They are not the cutest things in the world, but they are very comfortable and I will be able to wear them all night. If anyone sees them they'll just get a peek of white.

I wore heels. I needed some height bc I am short and my husband is 5’10. I did not wear my shoes all night. I had a pair of white fluffy pair of slippers that said bride to be on them (my mom bought them for me)Tell us about your shoes 9

Well, I was planning on wearing some butterfly shoes from Irregular Choice, but unfortunately I got diagnosed with lymphedema and they no longer fit! Even when the swelling is at its lowest, they won't accommodate my stockings I need to wear so I am kind of back to square one.
