Tell me your drink menu!

Kayla, on January 3, 2020 at 1:38 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9

We are going to DIY the bar. Thinking beer, wine, and a couple signature drinks. The venue provides mixers so really only need to provide the alcohol. Need some ideas to narrow down our choices.

Your favorite cocktail, your SO’s favorite cocktail and one cocktail with widespread popularity. Best if they have different liquors in them (think a vodka drink a rum/ whiskey drink and a tequila or gin drink)

    I totally agree with Heather~

We did our own bar too. I got two bottles of whiskey, A bottle of plain vodka, a bottle of citrus vodka, two bottles of plain run, a box of white white, a box of white wine, a gallon of orange juice, a gallon of cranberry juice, 3 bottles of champagne, and 1/2 keg of regular beer and a quarter keg of lite beer.

Our venue will let us do beer wine that they provide for $13pp or wondering if it would be cost effective to do that and then just bring in our own alcohol? I am trying to keep it simple as possible but also the most cost effective as possible. Our reception is only 3.5 hours long but we have some heavy drinkers in our 60 person group.

We didn't have signature drinks, just a full open bar with everyone appreciated. That included: Wine - Murphy Goode: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir.

Bottled Beer - Bud Light, Coors Light, Blue Moon, Stella Artois, Corona, Fat Tire & Voodoo Ranger. Champagne - Chateau Napolean Extra Dry California Champagne. Non-Alcoholic Beverages - Water, Soda, Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice, Pineapple Juice and Other Cocktail Mixers. Spirits- Svedka, Tanqueray, Bacardi, Jack Daniels, Dewar’s, Sauza Silver.

Did you stock these yourselves? Seems overwhelming to try and figure the amount to buy!

No, our venue did fortunately. But we were told to plan for one drink per person per hour (or two during cocktail hour since we have a heavier drinking crowd). We opted to skip table-side wine service because we had to pre-estimate the amount of people that wanted wine and we didn't want to assume!

For beer we're doing : Stella Artois, Coors Light and Heineken

For Wine we're doing : Baby Duck, And some kind of Moscato (either Jacob's Creek or Bodacious)

For spirits we're doing: Dark rum and Vodka. That's it.

Our signature drinks will be "Dark and Stormy" which is dark rum, ginger beer and lemon juice. We're also probably going to do the "Moscow Mule" which is the same thing as dark and stormy, but just with vodka instead. However the Moscow Mule is definitely not set in stone, as we're thinking of a more fun and fruity drink to do with the vodka!

Our venue supplies pop & mixers, so we just need to supply the alcohol. I'm estimating roughly 100 guests.

Most of my guests drink beer. My family requested Miller Light. I'm also planning on picking up something darker, like yuengling or sam adams. I figured I'd get around 120 cans of beer. I plan on getting cans because I priced it out and cans are cheaper than kegs here. Plus, I can return any cases of beer that don't get opened.

I'm also getting 4 cases boxed wine. A box of wine is equal to 15 to 18 glasses. My family isn't very picky about wine and just want it to be sweet. I'm going planning on getting moscato, sweet red and a rose.

I'm also supplying 3 Bottles Vodka, 2 Bottles Rum, 2 Bottles Whiskey. Each bottle should equal 15 shots/drinks.

I plan on having a sign on the bar that says the types of beer, wine, liquor, and pop/liquor available.
