Teleflora for wedding flowers?

kerri, on July 27, 2010 at 10:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

I'm having a small wedding of about 50-75 guests and only my maid of honor/best man, junior bridesmaid/junior groomsman and a flower girl/ring bearer. I was thinking or ordering my flowers from teleflora online for my centerpieces and for the bridal party. Has anyone done this?? any thoughts, comments or concerns? By the way my wedding isnt unitl Feb so I do have time.

Thanks

We sort of did that. We live in the DC area, but were getting married in Massachusetts, so we couldn't exactly meet with a florist. We looked online until we found a Teleflora bouquet we liked. We then looked for the nearest Teleflora florist to our ceremony venue, and called them to order the bouquet by number.

The only thing I would warn you about is that you may want to look at an actual example of the bouquet with a local florist before ordering. The colors of the bouquet we got were somewhat different from the colors of the bouquet depicted online. This was not a big deal for us, but it might be for someone else. The first picture below is the online picture from the Teleflora site; the second is my actual bouquet.

I've found www.bridesign.com and i loooooove the flowers shown on their site. they have a "wedding in a box" that includes the bride bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet, corsages and boutonnières. you can also upgrade to bigger packages that include centerpieces.

i'm not sure if their prices are comparable to teleflora's or not.

    just my 2 cents.

You can get them much cheaper at samsclub.com or costco.com

We have worked with brides remotely before. In these days where emails are trivial and we can all access the web, while talking face to face is preferred, it's not essential.

I suggest you speak with the people at your venue - whether church, country club, hotel, or whatever - and get 2 or 3 recommendations for florists. Then call them and chat with them about it. When you find someone with whom you "click" - then you can start sending images back and forth.

You'll get a better result that way. The important thing is for the florist to understand your vision for the wedding, and to make sure that your vision is in line with your budget.
