Teeth whitening FAST!!!

Erin Wood, on June 27, 2017 at 3:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

So...silly me waited far too long to schedule to have my Invisalign brackets removed from my teeth. I called today and they are going to take them off July 7. Wedding is July 8. If I whiten before, I may have darker spots where the brackets were.

Does anyone know of an amazing whitener I can use Friday and Saturday that may actually make a difference?

Thank you!

I would ask your dentist. I'm not a dental professional but I feel like anything that is strong enough to make a difference in one day would have the potential to be very damaging.

Do you have any dental offices that do Zoom Whitening near you?

I would honestly not mess with this in a 24 hour time frame. anything strong enough to actually whiten that quick will make you miserably sensitive- not to mention you couldn't eat or drink anything with color at your wedding or your teeth would pick up those tones.

Have your photog edit with lighting that brightens your teeth. My mom is a dentist and made me whitening trays to use the whole time we were engaged...and my teeth were/are pretty white--but my photog worked some magic because my teeth are damn near perfect looking in our wedding pics because of how she edited.

eta: Jill- even if she does zoom, she is likely to need more than one treatment, and may be incredibly sensitive (to cold, wind, biting, etc) and be miserable on her wedding day. If anything look at picking up a pack of the crest pro strips in the professional strengths and maybe using them twice in that time will brighten them up a little, but nothing drastic.

Oooh shit, I would definitely ask your dentist if whitening treatments are even recommended that soon after getting the braces off. Sometimes your teeth are just too sensitive.

Crest whitestrips 1 hour worked really well for me. But again, ask to see if this is a good idea for your situation.

Thanks guys! I'll ask him. The brackets are really tiny and I only have 1 on top so shouldn't be in any pain. I may just start whitening and see what happens. My teeth aren't super yellow but not as white as they could be.

I bought this thing a few years ago from the pharmacy (sorry don't remember the name) but it had something you painted on your teeth and then you held a light up to your teeth. I remember doing it like multiple multiple times in a row the first day I got it and it didn't hurt my teeth or anything and you could see a difference. It was like a black light thing.

For a few reasons I'm unable to whiten my teeth, I've seen some teeth whitening pens that you paint on. I haven't bought it yet but "pearly girl vegan teeth whitening pen" from sephora gets good reviews

The only real option is that zoom whitening. It can make your teeth sensitive though. Mine was just for a few hours but it could have been longer. I'm still using some cheap-o plus white and it does the job.

Also @Erin G. That whitening pen sounds amazing and I must have one!

FH is having his attachments temporarily removed, doing the whitening, then having them put back on after the wedding.

I have been doing crest white strips and bleaching gel with the invisilign brackets in. As recommended by my orthodontist. All good.

I use lumineux toothpaste. It doesn't taste great, but it's noticeable after two uses if I don't drink coffee.
