Tattoos and Piercings

As the bride or groom, are you going to cover up/take out your tattoos and piercings? Would you ask members of the wedding party to do so?

No and No... one of my bridesmaids is covered in tattoos. Kinda irritates me honestly but she has been my best friend since we were 12 and she is who she is

My cousin has piercings on his face...like two above his lip on either side and two below his lip on either side. He WILL be removing them. He can put them back in his face after the wedding if he wishes

    Tats are fine.

The only piercings or tattoos either one of us have are in places that are normally covered up by clothing anyways. However, if anyone in our party is tatted (I really don't have any idea if they are or if it will show) I'm not going to make them cover up!

I specifically hid my tattoos because I knew one day at my wedding I wouldn't want them being seen (I was 16 and thinking this!), my sister (MOH) is COVERED in tattoos and I mean sleeves and a huge chest piece, she also alternates piercings often. The only one I would ask her to hide is her nose piercing that hangs between her nostrils, reminds me of a bull, can't think of the technical name... Other than that I don't expect her to cover up anything and actually requested she pick a strapless dress to show off her arms and chest tattoos lol.

Nope. I look like this every day, why would I change how I look for something like my wedding where I am supposed to be so happy as myself.

Really though, if I were in a wedding party and my friend asked me to cover my entire arm up....id be a little offended. Like, you're the bride nothing is going to upstage you...especially not me looking like me.

So I'm definitely agreeing with the majority here that tattoos are part of people. So it's a no on covering them up.

But I'm still not sure about piercings. I love my piercings and I'm still not sure whether or not I want them in for my wedding day.

A&J, your sister's nose piercing is exactly the one I was thinking of with one of my bridesmaids. That's the one that drove me to write this post; it's fairly new and was on my mind!

I have a latge tattoo on the inside of my bicep that I am not covering up. Also have a regular industrial and a reverse industrial that I plan to take out because they don't make me feel very feminine. Also I think having large bars through your ears really distracts from pretty lobe earrings. If someone asked me to cover up/remove piercings I really wouldn't care. It's my choice to look like this, and if someone wants me to look different for a day so they can be the center of attention in their photos I wouldn't mind in the slightest.
