Tasting - Tip??

Hello! We have our tasting today and I'm wondering if we are supposed to tip? Did you tip at yours? If so, how much?

6 of us, the tasting is complementary for my fiance and I and we are paying $50/pp for others.

Tasting includes 3 entrees, sides + wedding cake, is with only the head chef of the catering company and is BYOB.

    We are also doing our tasting today! What a coincidence! Our venue DOC said to tip around $30 for four people who are complimentary. We are actually bringing 6 people with the 2 additional at $30 pp and we added to try the appetizers on for $30 as well so we’ll probably tip closer to $45-50ish

    I didn’t tip at my first tasting but I’ve felt kind of awkward about it since. It wasn’t set up conducively to tipping (prepaid) and was just in an office room at the catering facility. So I feel like they probably didn’t expect it.
    BUT the next tasting I did took place in that catering company's Sister restaurant and the bill was set up like any regular restaurant bill so I did tip but was overwhelmed with how to do so and ended up being...quite generous. Led me to feel bad about the first situation. BUT we went with the first caterer so I’ll just give be extra generous with the event tipping
