Taste testing

Amers, on July 2, 2019 at 10:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

Hi all,

We are just under 8 months out and I'm wondering when I should schedule a taste test date with my caterer and baker. I am all about planning and having everything done as soon as possible, but I don't want to get too ahead of myself. When did you all do your taste tests? Thank you in advance! Smiley smile

We did our catering tastings 8 & 10 months out, and our bakery testings 6 months out! I think this is the perfect time to schedule.

We met with our baker in April to do a tasting and to sign a contract. And we're meeting next weekend with our venue's chef for a menu tasting.

Food and cake were both included with our venue. We booked our date 20 months ahead of time and did our food tasting about a month later to confirm that the food was up to snuff and we still wanted to hold our reception there. Our cake is through a baker who is contracted by the venue so we didn't have to shop around which was nice. The bakery wouldn't let us do a tasting until about 6 months out so we just did that in May.

Our food tasting was at the end of December for our August wedding.
We did 2 cake tastings; one in March and another in May.
