Tarot card reader

Amanda, on May 16, 2017 at 8:40 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 12

First I want to say I don't actually believe what tarot cards have to say I'm not superstitious in any way... However I'm having a Halloween themed wedding (nothing cheesy... okay maybe a zombie cake topper but that's it lol ) .. Would it be totally off putting to have a card reader at my wedding ?? Is this totally off the wall ?? What would your opinion be on this ??

Definitely have one. Goes with your theme. It'd be a nice addition. And something fun for your guests to do, if they wanted.

It might be interesting, lines might be long though if it's a hit.

Do you have any super religious guests coming? Some people believe tarot readers/psychics/mediums are demonic so if you have really sensitive people coming, I'd shy away from it.

My job has a tarot & palm reading at our end of the year party - i don't see why you couldn't have one at your Halloween wedding Smiley smile

I think this is a nice way to add to your theme, and also a know your guests kinda thing. Personally, I would find it weird and a little out of place at a wedding. But that's because of several different personal reasons, and doesn't mean your guests will feel the same.

There will be a small handful of religious people but most are not.. I'm having a smaller wedding 70 to 80 adults ... I also have a caracture artist coming so that may break up line a bit ..

That sounds fun and unique. I don't think it will be out of place due to your Halloween theme. If you hire someone, make sure you think about how long they will take to do a reading and how many they can do per hour.

A lot of people can be superstitious in one way or another but to each their own. As long as you're having a great time, that's what matters. Plus, having a tarot card reader could be a cool way to get your guests involved and provide a fun and spooky addition to your special day. Besides, Psychic Reddit is also a great resource if you're looking for some advice. Comprised of many readers and psychics, you'll be sure to find someone with experience who can help you make your decision. So definitely recommend checking them out for further guidance.

This seems like a know your crowd thing, but I think it could be fun. Maybe offer it throughout the reception so there isn't a big line

That'd be fun! Definitely talk with the reader and make sure that you vibe and she doesn't feel disrespected in anyway, especially since you yourself "don't actually believe". There's a lot of fun love themed spreads, and I'm sure she could also give advice on appropriate cards to display as a part of decor if you wanted to add to the theme. (It'd be weird if you displayed "the lovers" card upside down, for example).

Definitely talk to them about time limit for readings, so a line doesn't get too long.

I'm not sure where in the country you are, but you could also take inspiration from different famous haunted towns for inspiration as far as food or other things (Salem, New Orleans, or Savannah come to mind).
