Target Registry Gift Card

BtoB, on May 3, 2017 at 10:32 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Hey Everyone!

Quick question - we are registered with target and when I view the registry online via the guest's perspective, it adds a Target gift card to the top of the registry. We did not and do not want to register for target gift cards, and don't want to come across as though we are asking for cash. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there any way to remove the gift card from the registry?

I am not big on target but actually it isn't a bad idea because then you could pick what you wanted from the registry with the gift card. I don't see that as asking for cash it is giving your guests an option.

I think Target automatically adds that to every registry.

It did that for me there and for amazon. There's an option to remove it. I think it works just like how you would remove any regular item from your list.

This happened to me too. Just click on "remove item" just as you would if you changed your mind about a physical item you had added. NBD

@Heather the issue is when I sign in and view it as my registry, the gift card isn't included, so I can't make any changes to it.

I have nothing against Target gift cards, in fact I spend way too much money there as it is I'd love a gift card to supplement. I just don't want to come across as asking for cash. They put it right up top so it is the first thing the guests see when they look at the registry. Good to know some of you seem to think it doesn't come across that way!

Thanks everyone! I think I found the solution - you have to go to 'Edit Registry Details' and uncheck the box allowing guests to purchase gift cards. *facepalm* should've looked closer first.

    Thanks guys Smiley smile

It's just them advertising anyway they can! Glad you found the fix & I'll be making note of this for when we get to that point of planning!
