Tanning bed vs spray tan?

Mrs. Danihel, on February 20, 2018 at 11:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I dont get fake tans but I will not have enough time in the sun before my wedding (seeing weather where I live tends to snow or be very cold until May). I dont know which would be better tanning bed or spray tan. I am very worried about spray tan with my dress seeing it covers my back and has straps, and i do not what it is rub off on my dress. What would you suggest? How early before wedding would you suggest starting or getting it done. Thanks in advance.

Don't increase your risk of cancer in a tanning bed

Idk about my wedding but I’m going to get a spray tan the day before our engagement pictures! I’ve gotten them many many times!! If anything rubs off it isn’t the actual spray tan. It’s the “guide color”. Usually I just wear baggy clothes after I get the spray tan. You shower before, exfoliate real good. Then the next morning shower again! You should be set. If you go to a reputable place and to someone who knows what they’re doing, you won’t look orange, it’ll be even, and nothing will wipe off! Also before...... you you have to lotion up you’re knees, fingers and feet. The spray likes to clump there a lot!

I would do a trial spray tan now to see how it looks and then decide, that’s what I’m going to do, way healthier for your skin.

You have time to try out a spray tan before your wedding, I would try to book it soon. Tanning beds freak me out, but I'm getting married in March in New England, so natural sun has not seen my body in a while, so I tried out spray tanning. I asked friends for recommendations and I went to a place that my pickiest friend recommended. I liked it a lot more than I thought. IT didn't rub off on my clothes. Once you shower, it pretty much locks it in. The look can vary depending on how long you leave it on before showering and it fades after a couple of days. I learned that I liked the look the best on day 3, it was more of a sun kissed at that point. Now I know to book an appointment 3 days prior to my wedding and I'll like the look. If you try it and hate it, it will definitely fade prior to your wedding date, so you can try it out without worrying that you will look orange on the big day. I have some friends who swear by the Jergen's tanning lotion if you want an at home method, but I haven't tried that one.

You can do a mix of both. Having a base color from the beds will help your spray tan look more natural. If you are getting sprayed at the salon by the versa or the mystic machines - you really really need to do some trial runs so you know how to avoid getting the weird lines on your hands and if you want your face to be sprayed or not.

I have had way to many problems with spray tans rubbing off the next day and the tanning bed relaxes me and helps with my depression so I am doing that

    Spray tan is 10000% better.

Get it done 48 hours before your wedding and follow the after care instructions and it will not rub off on your dress.

Airbrush tans are much better than Mystic and they can tailor the color to your base

I've only done spraying tanning once and didn't have any issues. I had to get it done for a fitness competition I was doing (so I got like TAN AF). I had to get like three tans in the span of a day to get to that point. However, once my competition was over and I was able to shower off the excess tan, I had a great a base color for about a week or so that didn't rub off on anything. I'm thinking of doing it for the wedding but am not sure yet. I'm getting my hair colored very blond for the wedding and like it with my current skin tone; I'm not sure how it'll look with tanner skin.

I'm thinking about doing an air brush tan 2 days before the wedding so I have a nice glow. Any additional color that would wear off should be done by then.

I live in FL but having a January wedding isn't helping with my skin color, lol! I've been considering going into a tanning bed 2-3 times before the wedding. I don't want to be too tan (because it is January) but I'd like a nicer base color. I'm afraid to get a spray tan and I always use some sort of SPF, even in a tanning bed. I don't tan regularly in a bed, though.
