Tanning bed lotions?

Niky, on March 3, 2009 at 8:37 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I've recently started going tanning (LA Tan), as our wedding in July is in Puerto Rico and I'm so pale white I'm damn near translucent right now. Smiley smile (see avatar!) Not to mention I have stripes on my back from last summer and a bandaid outline, as I had a mole removed and needed to block it from sun for months. I'm not looking for a "bronzer" or "tingler" as I'm reading about, just a good lotion to keep my skin moisturized and maybe assit in keeping the color good. I don't want to spend a million dollars either! :-) Thanks, ladies!

You can try Emerald Bay they make a very good lotion it does have a bronzer in the one I use but there isnt any color to the lotion but I also lay in a Bronzer bed , I have to say useing a bronzer and bronzer bed you get more bang for your buck. Not all bronzer lotions are the same I would also just buy a couple samples at the salon and try them till you find one you like.

Hi! As someone who worked as a tanning consultant for a very long time, I can tell you that you are looking for an "Intensifier" far more than a bronzer or a "tingler." A "tingler" oxidizes your blood and raises it to the surface, so you end up appearing far more red than bronze. With bronzers, you run the risk of turning orange or streaking if it's a DH bronzer.

For the MOST color, find a tanning lotion with a DERMADARK bronzer. It's a stain-free, steak-free bronzer that continues tanning your skin even AFTER you are out of the UV light.

If you are only looking for moisture and skin care, ask the employees of the tanning salon for an inexpensive Intensifier lotion. Whatever they tell you, you are under NO obligation to buy the expensive brands. Even the most basic, inexpensive lotions have aloe, vitamin E, etc, etc...all of the essential, basic ingredients to keep your skin healthy. The more expensive ones just have those ingredients at a higher concentration. But honestly...

I've worked for a long time at a tanning salon, and I NEVER spent more than thirty dollars on a lotion, even while I was selling lotions for $150 plus. Smiley winking

    Good luck!

P.s. Whatever you do, DONT mystic before your wedding! Those bronzers end up looking orange and fake! A month or so of tanning with a good lotion is plenty to give you a natural glow!

I love the Hemp lotions and at the moment I have a lotion called Extreme from Supre that comes in a yellow bottle. My friend actually bought it for me online and got it super cheap! I think the two websites she used were www.BestPriceTanning.com and www.InternetTanning.com

But the Extreme lotion smells wonderful and makes my skin feel gorgeously silky. I have to say part of the reason I love tanning so much is how wonderful my skin feels afterwords.

    Good luck!

I highly recommend Forever After Lotion - you get 22oz for $10.50 on www.bestpricetanning.com

It will definitely help maintain your tan.

Also if you are not using a tanning lotion before tanning I would recommend doing so - it will help you to tan faster and to also maintain your glow
