Tan/beige Suit for fh

C_Law2018, on December 20, 2017 at 5:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I can't decide on wedding colors because FH (who originally said he had no input on colors or attire, but now has a lot of input on it lol) wants to wear a tan suit. We originally were thinking of DW but decided to do a local wedding and it will be in Dec. So it will be a fall/winter wedding. So I'm having a really hard time accepting this tan suit in the winter time idea. I know it's his wedding and he can wear what he wants but I'm trying to think of a good compromise. Any suggestions on color schemes that would make a tan suit more winter/fall looking?

How about light gray? My FH wants to wear a tan suit too, but we're getting married in the summer. I would think that light gray would be a good compromise, and will look nice in winter.

ETA: Or, if he insists on tan, maybe navy or burgundy would look nice with it.

maybe something like this? you could downplay the green for winter, and use the champagne/tan for the guys, and the gold as an accent, with white, it would be beautful.

then your guys could wear something like this? you could easily get away with this with burgundy/gold/green/tan, and in winter, with white, it would look so elegant.

I think tan suits look sloppy, like not as put together. Light gray would be a better option.

I will ask him about the gray, I suggested other colors like navy and he always goes back to the tan suit lol. If it was summer time I would be just fine with it. Burgundy is a really good suggestion and would go with rose gold which I really want to incorporate!

We chose tan suits because we had a summer wedding. If he's really dead set on tan suits, I guess you could "darken" it with darker shirts, ties, or vests...

That was my original thought, very few people pull off a good tan suit! I'm really trying to compromise though. I like the gold and burgundy, but still not loving the pic of the guys in the tan suits.

Tan goes with every color accessories, but there's no getting around the fact that it simply isn't commonly worn by men in the winter.

Oh, the color palette that Emily posted is nice! If he's set on tan, I really like the tan/burgundy combo!

I totally agree - i was just trying to post some options... looking at it more i see more of what you mean. it does look a little off... not sloppy really, but definitely not as put together as it could be. maybe try dark brown or light grey? i feel like either of those colors would go nicely with the gold/rosegold/burgundy palette and work nicely for late fall/winter.
