Tall or short centerpieces?

Kristina, on June 30, 2018 at 1:10 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
So my wedding is 20's themed, and it's less than four months away now! I'm going to start on my centerpieces this weekend.

I thought I had already decided on tall Eiffel Tower vases, but then I've seen some comments saying they make table discussion difficult.

What do you guys think? I can either do short, 6-8 inch vases, or the tall 24-32 inch vases

Ive always been a fan of short, so people can see the others across the table from them 😊

I think the short ones would look great because the feathers add some height to it!

I’m doing all short for our reception —- tall are hard for conversation and I feel like short makes it feel more warm and intimate

The short. Like PP has mention, conversations with someone across the table is awkward, but also no one has to worry about knocking it over.

If you choose short, the whole thing needs to be below eye level. For most tables, that is about 12-14".

If your feathers will not obstruct the view, you are good to go. Otherwise the taller, narrower vase is better for ostrich feather centerpieces. You will need more feathers though, as the whole scale of the centerpiece is larger.

Thanks ladies!! The tall ones do look nice, from afar haha. They would definitely mage it harder to converse with everyone

The short ones will even be cheaper to make so that works out great!! I can do them for half the price!

Short centerpieces for me are the best. Just because it doesn’t block the guests from talking amongst themelsves or block their vision.

B ut the short centerpiece you included looks like it obstruct people’s view so I would go with the taller centerpiece because at least it’s a very narrow tall vase

Yes, exactly what I was thinking. If you have both sizes it gives depth to the overall look of the room. The tall ones are very 20's authentic looking. And look like they would be tall enough to not obstruct conversations. Your pics would look amazing.

The tall ones seem more authentic and so striking in pics. The base is skinny (we used those in our 50’s/60’s reception),nobody had trouble socializing at all. I say go for tall!

Is your venue inside? Ours was outside & the wind was so bad even though we glued the vases to a 8x8 wood base, the manager had to tape the vases down. Ugh. Not great for pics but nothing broke so yay.

Agree. The short isn't short enough to alleviate the conversation issue -- the tall, however will keep the stuff out of people's faces and allow for conversation.

Maybe I am not seeing how tall these really are? I feel the short one is like the size of a regular vase of flowers? Am I wrong?
