Taco Bar

Laura, on May 5, 2018 at 4:05 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14

If you're attending a wedding where they're serving a taco bar, what items are you most hoping to see offered? What kind of tortillas, fillings, toppings, and sides would really make you happy? And what would you want to be drinking to wash it down?

That menu looks a little meat-heavy, although maybe the "toppings" include vegetables. I'd add in some vegetables + guacamole, either for vegetarians or people who want a more balanced meal.

I think if it were me, id at least be expecting all the "normal" fixings (beef/chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, maybe salsa, sour cream, etc). Id also just be expecting normal tortillas but if someone can't have that maybe there should be a choice of gluten free or something? As far as beverages go, almost anything i think. Just my opinion thoughSmiley smile

I know this may be the UO but as much as I LOVVEEE tacos, I don't wanna see them at a wedding I'm attending. I don't wanna eat tacos in dressy attire.

That being said, to answer the question, I gotta have guac and cheese and feel they are best washed down with tequila or my favorite mojitos! 😋

I love tacos! We wanted to incorporate the taco stand where we had our first date, but couldn't quite make it work.
I want something authentic so I want chorizo, carnitas and the FH loves tripe. I'll settle for a good pollo on a corn tortilla with a Miller Lite.

All you need for a good taco bar:

    Corn tortillas
    Carne asada
    Al pastor
Chicken (I guess? I’ve never met anyone here who actually orders chicken tacos)
    Cilantro and onion
Good restaurant style salsa (the blended kind not the chunky kind) - rojo and verde

Rice, beans, and queso fresco on the side

Plus some horchata and aguas frescas, maybe Coke in a glass bottle

We did a taco bar and we had all the different veggies, beef, sour cream, guacamole, different hot sauces, salsas and chips. We also had both corn and flour tortillas, rice and vegetarian beans.

We are doing a taco bar also. We will be having three kinds of meat, along with fajita mix for the vegetarians. Beans, rice, guac, queso, all the fixings!! I can’t wait!

I hate tacos, so I would be looking for either chips to make nachos or a dinner alternative.

Guacamole! Plenty of salsas and some sour cream to help soothe the burn.

A nice tofu/meat substituee option, like Chipotle's sofritas, would be nice too along with a veggie side like grilled bell peppers and onions. But any braised meats are welcome to the party.

Wash it all down with anything citrus-y, preferably laced with tequila or rum.

FH and I love tacos. We don't eat them nearly as often as we would like to though. We're looking into having Chipotle cater our rehearsal dinner.

I don't hate tacos, but I would definitely want to see some chips there! Salsa, guac, and queso would be pretty important, too!
