Taco bar!!

redhead3, on July 22, 2019 at 1:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14

Have any of you guys considered or had a taco bar at the reception? We aren't going for a spanish theme, but I think it would be less expensive if we had a taco bar.

I'm doing it! It's not less expensive as caterers in my area have caught onto that trick. But honestly with so many picky eaters in our families we said make your own tacos were worth the money so we don't get complaints

We are absolutely doing a taco bar. It was decided before our engagement. We have tacos 2-3 times a week, so we figured it just made sense.

Make sure you have enough food/servers/stations for all your guests. One wedding I went to had the taco guys but the line took half an hour and they only let you get 2 tacos. By the time you got back to your table to eat and went back to get more they ran out of food and were closing up. Another wedding I went to that had tacos the bride spilled red taco grease down the front of her white dress.Smiley cry

We went to a wedding with a taco bar and hated it. It just seemed way to casual for their theme. It really didn’t mix - nice reception - casual Mexican food... not to mention the line took an HOUR to go through. People really do take their time when it comes to putting together their own food 😂. I say do what you please! That’s just my observation.

I didn't consider it (because our caterer is provided and that isn't one of their offerings) but I LOVE the idea and I'm sure your guests will, too! Tacos are so yummy! 😋

We are having a taco guy at our wedding he provides everything including all the meats we want, the salsa, and rest of the toppings, and tortillas. He charges $13 per person so we are going to end up paying $2,500 for 200 people.
