Hey yall!! So I recently got engaged! Yay!! I am planning our wedding myself and also paying for it myself (of course with the groom). I have been married before and refuse to go into debt to have the wedding of our dreams! Our budget is $4000. Most of the venue will eat up half of that! My question...

Hey yall!!

My question is this....We want to have a pizza bar! Is it Tacky?? Its cheap and fun! Its all over pinterest. Its a barn wedding and we are more interested in drinking then the rest of the stuff!!

What do yall think? Also any ideas on places?!?!

True. But other menus with a choice of entrée and side are easier to work with for dietary issues. But, that's why I suggested the same as you, let people know ahead of time. I think your RSVP suggestion is perfect!

BBQis soooo gross and sloppy. Who wants to deal with that at a party? Pizza is so cool and such a unique idea! I’d love it and try a few slices of different ones!

Good barbecue is not “gross,” Jessica, Our whole wedding budget was 5k. But it was important to me to have amazing food. We spent probably half of our budget on food and I don’t regret it for a second. Where are you located and how many guests? We had a casual laid back wedding and I just loved my day and so did my guests. You have to figure out what’s important to you:m. Pizza is delicious and I love it, so pizza would be okay in my book. Perhaps have your wedding at a restaurant that won’t charge you Too much extra for hosting it there. Then you won’t have to worry Because you have professionals working for you.

Do you already have a barn venue? We had a fairly low budget and looked a barn or too. I was surprised how expensive it was. We got married in a very rural town and the barn venue was $3,000, which was WAY more than any other venue in the area. We rented our a restaurant for $200. On a $4,000 budget, you really can't spend more than a couple hundred on your venue if you want to stay on your budget. I like the pizza idea, esp. if its from a food truck or something more unique than take-out. But like another pp, any one with gluten/dairy sensitivities or allergies will have difficulties.

Anyone with gluten allergies can tell you they have them. Might be good to put on your invites and wedding website. *”if you have any food allergies, please reach out to the bride and groom to accommodate an alternate meal for you.”
