Tacky or cute

Shelby, on October 29, 2020 at 4:25 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Hello, I need help! So we've had to reschedule twice (eyeroll) and now we're shooting for January and doing it no matter what! The problem is my bridesmaid dresses are marigold since it was supposed to be summer and I don't want them to have to put out anymore money on another dress. How do I "winterize" marigold? Our theme is country/rustic (boys are in dark cinch jeans, white button ups, and gray with marigold Pendleton vest) so I was thinking maybe getting jean jackets? Open to ideas! Thanks in advance!

Jean jackets would be cute. The only downside I could see is if the jean jackets are a different color than the jeans the groomsmen are wearing as I don't like the idea of mixing two different jean colors together. Another option would be a shawl or fur coat.

I would say try to tie in Ivory and gold. Maybe have the girls in an ivory shawl and gold jewelry. Keep the flowers minimal and in a white/ivory colour. Avoid too many flowers that feel summery and use lots of candles that feel warm and cozy. The colour doesn’t matter as much as the overall atmosphere. Jean jackets could work too, if you can’t get the right denim tone, maybe do black or white jean? I think a black and whit tartan scarf for the girls shoulders would look super cute with a rustic theme and tie in winter. Tacky or cute 1

What is marigold? Do you have a picture? If that's a color name from random dress designer, just know that you can use any color any time of the year. Just look at Mother Nature.
Love the jean jackets idea. Take a look at Pinterest for "rustic/country winter wedding" and see what catches your eye.

Pinterest is a wonderful thing! Love those shawls from above, looks like it would match & soften up the look.

These are the dresses, this is the color. The picture doesn't do it justice very well. It's a little darker in person. more mustardy than yellow i would say.

Stick with charcoal and cream as accents like above pictures.

You don’t have to winterize it! I think a pop of marigold would be so cute any season

I don’t think you need to “winterize” either. The dress is so pretty and a jacket would hide that beautiful off shoulder look. I guess you could make it more in season with the color/type of flowers they will be holding.

That’s cute! really like the denim jacket idea and it coordinates with the groomsmen. The dresses do have a summer style to them, so cute denim jackets would help and also tie into your rustic/country theme. There are cute pics of BMs in denim jackets on Pinterest.

A white fur wrap or scarf, long satin white gloves. You could also incorporate some navy.

I think a jean jacket is nice because it could also be their gift and you can get really cute monogrammed ones from Etsy. I got a cute jean jacket for my engagement shoot. Itis a nice keepsake. I also think it jean jacket would look really nice with that dress and cover the shoulders. I think fur or a shawl scarf people are less likely to use again so spend smart. Just my opinion. Also others are right. You don’t need to winterized at all if you don’t want to!
