Tables of 8 or 10?

Are you having tables of 8 or 10? I’ve also seen some receptions with a few long rectangle tables

My D is doing 10 at 72” round tables, as did my middle D who married in July.

Rectangle tables for the bridesmaids and grooms. Round tables that seat 10 for the guests, but only doing max 8 guests per table so they can eat comfortably

My tables fit 10 but we are seating 8. I hate the feeling of being squished.

We also had tables that would have sat 10, but chose to seat only 8, to avoid overcrowding.

Ours could hold 10 but for a plated meal we are doing 8 to allow room for the servers.

They say 8 is comfortable and 10 is tight. I would say do 8 or 9 But try to avoid a full 10. We had a lot more people rsvp no than we originally thought so we might have to do 6-7 per table and now I’m worried that’s too small!

Our tables fit 10 but we'll only do 8. The guest tables are circular and the head table will be a rectangle

We had a two-tiered head table and then our guests were at round tables - our venue did tables of 10. And no one felt cramped, so they were fairly large! Some of them ended up with 8 or 9 people, and those lucky few got to stretch out a little extra Smiley smile

I'd just check with your venue on table size first and go from there. If the tables are big enough, 10 is fine. But if they're on the smaller side, obviously go 8.

I have tables that technically seat 10, but we are really thinking about seating 8 at each table.

    Usually, it's 8 to a round table!

I did circle tables with each and it worked out for the few people who I didn't know where to sit and the big groups who would rather sit together.

This is right, there are basically two different “normal” sizes for round tables at a wedding and a 60” is what most people do which seats 8-10 and 72” that seats 10-12. So it really depends on what SIZE of tables you get rather than how many you seat at that table. If you get a 60” round table and seat only 8 there will be PLENTY of room for everyone at those table. If you seat 10 at a 60” it wouldn’t be TOO cramped either due to the fact the table is round so you’re not side by side like you would be at a rectangular table.
