Tablecloths - getting the wrinkles out???

MrsDean, on March 6, 2015 at 3:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

How are you guys handling this? Are you steaming/ironing them yourselves? Having them steamed professionally? How will you keep them wrinkle free until the day of the wedding?

We don't have access to the venue until 8am the day of the wedding. I think our best option is to steam the table top part of the cloth the morning of after we set up. What y'all think??? This is WAY more work than I wanted to do. But it's for my wedding so #WeGood. LOL! :-D

I am thinking about using wrinkle releaser on ours. It will be 5 hours before the reception so I think it will be okay.

ETA - I would get someone to use our steamer but that is way too much work. Spraying a bottle will be so much faster and easier. Depending on the type of tablecloths you have, you may or may not be able to do this.

Alysha, I could kiss you! I never even thought about wrinkle releaser. I'm gonna buy some this weekend and see if it works. I'll let you guys know if it does.

Welcome to my nightmare. Before you decide to steam them yourself, do a couple and see what you think. Even a quick, crappy job on my 120" rounds took 30 minutes but a good job took at least 45. That's 8 hours of work or more. The cheapest place in town charges $10 each to steam them. I lucked out, and my future MIL had the laundry people at her assisted living condo do them for me. I was so relieved. My suggestion is to steam one ASAP just so you get an idea of how long it takes. It was a waaaay bigger project than I thought it would be.

LightBlue, I knew that steaming sounded like too much of a headache. I'm praying the wrinkle releaser works.

I'm going to use a steamer primarily (thank God for those years in retail) and maybe a wrinkle releaser to add to the effect. I heard that after you steam them, if you still need to transport, then to roll them up to help reduce the amount of wrinkles. I have a clothes rack that I will hang mine over until we set up the Friday before our wedding.
