Tablecloth length?

Amy, on August 30, 2017 at 9:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I have 60" round tables at my reception - I have to track down the tablecloth rental/purchase on my own as neither catering nor venue covers that part. Kind of frustrating, but oh well. Anyway, for to the floor tablecloths, I would need 120" rounds. Do you all think I could get away with 108" round (they're cheaper) and have them be a foot off the floor? I don't know how obvious it would even be that they don't go all the way to the floor with chairs around, and I personally hate having a full-length tablecloth draped over my legs when I'm sitting down. Any thoughts? If it matters, the venue is not expensive or fancy either; just a conference center as we are on a pretty tight budget.

I think they will be farther off the floor. We cover our 72 inch tables with 130's and there is still a small part showing. We then cover with an 85. Not a fan of legs showing from the tables. Could you look on a wedding Facebook site? I know the one I'm on here in my part of Maryland always has linens for sale. Linens are $$. Sorry your venue doesn't provide these.

    (1) for 8' tables you need to get 90" x 156" tablecloths.

    (2) it is very noticeable using 108" tablecloths on 5' round tables. Spring for the 120". (ETA - corrected tablecloth dimensions).

My bad. I was thinking that my tables sat 8 people, not that they are 8' tables. They are 60" rounds. So 5' diameter.

120's would be perfect for the 60 Smiley smile

60" rounds will seat 8 people comfortably. If it's significant money, go for the 108's. You'll have a drop that goes right under the chair seat; it'll look fine when people walk in and they won't be swimming in fabric.

I've been nervous about Linen Tablecloth because of the lackluster reviews if you do a Google Search about them. But they are the cheapest I've found...Second cheapest was Walmart sells BalsaCircle branded ones for about $.50 more, but they have better reviews so I was going to go with them.

Thanks especially for the picture, muriel! That helps a lot.

I ordered from Linen Tablecloth and they were fine. Our tables were the same size as yours and I got the 120". One hard lesson we learned though is that whatever you purchase, they will arrive folded and therefore, wrinkled. We thought we could get away with just putting them in the washer then dryer and they will be fine but in the end, we had to make an emergency run to the dry cleaners to get them pressed. This ended up costing us much more than the price of the tablecloths but at that point, I just did not have the time nor desire to iron 19 of them.
