Tablecloth colors

Lauren, on April 8, 2020 at 11:19 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12
My girls will be in plum dresses and the guys will be in navy suits, our wedding colors are deep jewel tones. With our wedding package white tablecloths come with and we get our choice of napkin color. What color should our overlays be? And what colors should our napkins be? Pic is of centerpieces but we will have a clear vaseTablecloth colors 1

I love your colors!! I really wanted to go this route but decided to keep it neutral. Maybe the table overlays can be a deep teal or emerald green and the napkins magenta? Or some combination of that?

Since you flowers are so colorful, I would probably do something simple. In my opinion, I would stick with white tablecloths with no overlay and either navy or a magenta napkins.

That’s a good point. What do you think of a runner instead of a overlay?

Hello Lauren, beautiful colors! If you are doing an overlay you don't want the groomsmen or bridesmaids to match because it will look odd in photographs! If you are doing jewel tones I think a deep Emerald would really be beautiful, make the greens in your centerpieces pop, and compliment other jewel tones without your guests blending in in pictures! You could also do no overlay but that risks any spills or messes during dining to be very obvious and risks being visible in pictures. Best of luck! Smiley heart

Overlays also flow a lot better, with runners you need to think about which way each table has the runners pointing, if it will interfere with your seating layout, etc. They also get easily pulled one way or another, where overlays stay put.

I did kind of a similar color scheme— burgundy wine, black, jewel tones, teal, and gold accents. My girls were in burgundy wine (more of a purple undertone) dresses and guys in black suits (with tone on tone black leopard-print ties and teal/black animal print pocket squares).

I went with dark teal velvet runners on farm tables and purple napkins.

Black could look stunning. Or a dark plum. Navy or emerald might look too bright? Gold could also be interesting with jewel-toned flowers.

I think a runner would be very pretty. I would probably have the runner and napkins be the same color.

My colors are very similar! Girls are in plum dresses and guys are in black suits with deep red ties. We decided to go with pops of color in the centerpieces, so we are just having ivory tableclothes with wine colored napkins.
