Table size and centerpieces

Sierra, on January 28, 2020 at 6:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
How did you figure out how wide/ how many things you needed in your centerpieces? I know ultimately its up to me. And I know what I want my centerpieces to look like/be. But I'm not sure how to figure out how many of each thing I need for it. I don't want to under or over buy.

Thanks in advance!

It might help if you explained exactly what type of centerpiece you’re trying to create and the size/shape of the tables.

It depends on the look you are going for honestly. If you want something small and simple you can do just that and leave a lot of space on the table. If you want something more dramatic you will have to figure out a way to "fill" the middle space of the table. Are you doing rounds or long tables? We have a long head table and are using floral runners and candelabra's to fill length and height as well as using BM bouquets for height. The guest tables are using a mix of faux pillar candles, floral's and statures. We are also having a plated dinner so our tables will be set for dinner complete with chargers and linen napkins so that helps take up some of the space.

We had long tables and I originally wanted 3 small centerpieces to fill the space. However, my florist said this would actually cost more money than a large centerpiece in the center because of the extra labor. So we went with the larger centerpieces, but in an oblong shaped vase to fill up more space and we used sequined table runners as well.

That is a good point! Im wanting something simple yet elegant but ties the look/theme together. We plan to do something a little more extravagant to the head table (over the head/ tall boxed florals). For guest tables we plan to do a mix of both rectangular and circular to add aome dimension to the room and have more space for larger groups to all sit together. But the majority will be rounds large enough to fit 8. We have charger plates already to "fill" the table some. I have a vision for the centerpieces (pics below in another comment) but not sure how to figure out how much of each i need unless i have the products and table already on hand lol

I for sure didn't want anything tall. I also knew it wasn't convenient to have something too wide either.
